This was my third time staying at the Eco cabin and there's good reason to keep going back. The place is always quaint, comfy and clean. Upon arrival we are greeted with a cute welcome note along with some snacks. It's clear that Judi cares about this place and it's atmosphere allows guests to relax and take in all the Bruce has to offer. Plus for this year : Judi also left a national park pass in the cabin for guests to use :).

It means a lot to me that you really like Thoreau's. I think it's very special too and I have fond memories when my children and I would ride our bikes to visit The Rocks. I'm delighted you have returned so often. 2018?

Judi's cottage is a lovely little place. I used it for a short getaway- I was hiking a lot during the day and reading in the evening. I was looking for solitude and quiet, and it was perfect for this. It's very close to Bruce Trail access points which is great. Judi left a card and chocolate and checked in by text- overall a lovely balance of a warm and caring host, without being more involved than I needed. I get the sense that she truly cares about her guests. The futon is quite comfortable and the space is cozy and welcoming. If you're looking for a quiet, inexpensive retreat for 1 or 2 people, and want something simple, welcoming, and close to nature, I would highly recommend this Airbnb. If you're looking for a cottage on the water or want more space to spread out in, you may want to look elsewhere. This was absolutely perfect for what I wanted :) Thanks Judi- I'll definitely be back at some point!

This was my second time visiting Thoreau's cabin and we had a lovely time enjoying the Bruce in the fall. Judi was an attentive host and made the entire stay seamless. We were greeted with a card and bottle of wine at our arrival and the cabin was comfortable, clean and close to amazing hiking trails. We are already looking forward to the next visit.

Hello, I'm a mom of two college kids and love gardening, yard work and hiking. My husband is a classic car enthusiast. We live south of the Bruce Peninsula, one of the most spectacular nature areas in Ontario. I am learning French and spend winters in Montreal, je l'adore!
