The space

Bedroom is on the 3rd floor with the bathroom on the second floor and sometimes shared.
My house is in the historic Cool Spring neighborhood that's quiet, friendly and a nice 6-7 block walk into center city. Outside, enjoy parks for exercising and within a mile you'll find restaurants, coffee shops and bars.
Inside, make yourself at home with a view of our city 'skyline.' I'm convenient to banks, offices, hospitals and court houses as well as Amtrak, SEPTA and buses. Or, visit our outstanding selection of cultural and historic attractions including Winterthur, the Nemours Mansion & Garden, Hagley and the beautiful Brandywine Valley as well as Rt. 95.
If you have business meetings or are starting a new job in Wilmington, you can walk there, take public transportation within a few blocks of my house or we'll figure out another approach.
I'll give you recommendations for local unique cafes and restaurants.
There is a friendly cat in the house. I work from home so I have a lot of flexibility.

To learn why Wilmington is such a nice place to visit: (website hidden)_Delaware_city_was_a_gracious_host_.html

This room has one window with a view of the Wilmington skyline. The house is air conditioned and this room has a ceiling fan. Street parking is generally available although it can be tight at night. I have new, faster Internet service.

Guest access

You'll have access to the first floor living room, dining room, kitchen and front porch. Bathroom is on the second floor and may be shared at times.

Interaction with guests

The more the merrier. I do enjoy hosting guests, sharing my home and conversing with guests. You can expect a warm, friendly atmosphere more so than what you might find in a hotel or boarding house.

The neighbourhood

Urban, safe and walk-able. We'll talk in-person about the best routes into town, to stores, restaurants and parks.

Public transportation available within 1-3 blocks that can take you to the Wilmington Amtrak station.

This was the perfect place to stay in Wilmington. I stayed one night for the Delaware Running Festival (half marathon for me). Ed was the perfect host and understood all the things I was worried about in terms of logistics regarding my race and early morning wake-up/preparations. He is extremely knowledgeable about the area and history. My room and the entire home was perfect, well decorated, clean and in a great area. I would certainly stay again if I'm ever back in Wilmington, which I hope to return sometime in the future - it is a cute little town.

I'm a real extrovert so I love having guests in my big house. Come for a night or two if you have business in Wilmington or longer if you'd like to visit attractions like Winterthur, Longwood Gardens, Hagley, Nemours, etc. I work from home so I'm flexible.
