“Sellados Villas” have been constructed with the greatest attention to detail, aiming to create the perfect environment for you, to enjoy the best in quality vacations.

If you want.

Plomari is the largest coastal settlement in the southern part of the island and its second biggest town.

It was built in 1842, when the pirate invasions stopped and the residents moved to the seashore from Megalochori, a village 11 Km to the North, surrounded by green forest.

Plomari has a very important port, commercial traffic, cultural life, many attractions and beautiful beaches.

The tiled rooftops, hanging scaled from the hill to the sea, the green of the surrounding trees, the deep blue of the sea, the picturesque streets paved with grey stone, the houses with their characteristic "sachnisinia" and the ochre facades, the old coffee, the "archontomachalas" around the church of St. Nicholas, the small squares, the old mills still smoking in winter, ravish visitors from the very first sight.

Plomari combines a peaceful vacation with an enjoyable recreation. The hospitality of that part of Greece is a fact and a part of everyday life. Here you will find seaside taverns, traditional bakeries and nightclubs with live modern but also traditional music.

Moreover, you will find several distilleries with a long tradition in the production of ouzo. Ouzo Plomari is world famous and really excellent.

Local cultural events and celebrations of ouzo are mounted in the summertime. The "panigiria" culminate with horse races in honour of Saint Charalambos.

At the local Cultural Centre - Museum, one can admire the great development of Plomari since past times, when its yards filled the Aegean Sea with ferries and its soap supplied the entire Mediterranean.

But the natural beauties of Plomari are not only the crystal clear beaches, the "Plakakia", the "Ammoudeli" and “Saint Barbara” beach.

The beach of “Saint Isidoros" with its unique pebble is located two kilometres from the city centre. It has been voted in an online poll as the seventh best beach in Greece as part of the "Clean Shores" national project. The “Company of Nature Protection” and FEEE awards to it the “Blue Flag of Europe” prize to the beach continuously since 1992. It is by far the best beach on the island and provides security and many services to the visitors.

To the west of Plomari, there is "Melinda", a beautiful seaside area with a nice beach and small cafes at the mouth of a canyon covered in olive trees. The uniqueness of the landscape is marked by an imposing rock that overlooks the beach, whose location and size make it suitable for great-height dives for those who dare to try any.

Even more to the west, accessible by boat or by foot through a small path, you can discover the “Hidden Madonna”, a really impressive place. Steep cliffs with bubbling warm water gushing from their roots, are reflected in the aquamarine of the Aegean, discreetly hiding the icon of the Virgin Mary, who found refuge in the slot of that rock... It is an inviting location, with a panoramic view to the West to the coast of "Vatera" and the cape of Agios Fokas.

Eastern to Plomari there is "Tarti”, another beautiful beach in a small bay. Rocky headlands surround each side and the waters are unique in colour and clarity.

Riding a mountain bike or going hiking you can visit small picturesque mountain villages or climb near the bank of "Sedoundas" stream to visit the old mill, built into the creek, and enjoy the view of olive groves and the technique of "setia"-building that supports the trees on the steep hillsides and protects the soil from erosion.

Very interesting, also, are the mountain villages surrounding the city: Megalochori, Paleochori, Neochori, Plagia, Kournella, Milies, which offer a world of unparalleled serenity and natural beauty to the visitor.

At Sellados Villas you find three very exclusive houses embedding a kidney shaped pool. The 4th house which is little smaller is reserved to the owner when they are on Lesbos. We had chance to meet Dimitri and Angela at our arrival and can truly say thank you very much for a warm welcome. It was very special to us. The houses are awsome, you won't miss anything there. We rented one for our small 3 headed family and enjoyed it very much. Angelas aestethic touch and decoration for the interior joins Dimitirs expertise how to build a solid rock house. Ours had 3 bathrooms, 2 bedrooms and a large living room where kitchen is also located all together on 2 floors. Each floor has its own large terrace with table and chairs. Its realy lovely made and arranged. The ground is perfect sized and luxus sunbeds with parasol waiting for you at the pool. You also find big trees on one side of the pool if you like to have shade. Depth of pool is 1,2m on one side and goes down to 2m on other. We found 3 different ways to the beach. The shortest brings you after approx. 200m to a rocky lonesome place. The second one is maybe double as long away and with pebbles on beach. The long way takes about 10-15min to walk you are then at the center of main beach. This is where you find the most people and also free parasol and sunbeds. A couple of taverns are also located there. You have a Minimarked 15min walking distance away, but its better to drive with car to Plomari. I would guess it takes 8-10min to drive there. Its located at the big town square and they have everything you need for a good price.
