Spacious, bright, 2 bedroom, newly renovated apartment with a modern, clean, natural feeling. The available private bedroom is roomy and overlooks the garden below. This classic New York brownstone apt is a short walk to NYC subway through vibrant Hispanic neighborhood.
Your bedroom: double/full size bed, fresh sheets and towels provided. Bedroom has backyard garden view and partial long-range view to the north. Room has vacant draws, closet with hangers provided. Roomy with no clutter! If you have allergies, no worries, the bed and pillows are encased in allergen protective covers, which are all-cotton.
This humble NYC sanctuary is newly renovated with polished hardwood floors, exposed brick and all modern, stainless steel appliances. Guests can interact and relax in the open concept design. The common area's front windows have views onto the street below with glimpses of the adjacent Highbridge Park. The apartment is on the top (3rd) floor of an iconic New York brownstone building. The bathroom and common areas are shared. If the windows are open, you will hear plenty of street activity, typical of Washington Heights such as music, loud conversations, vehicles and the tire and shipping businesses below. Such is life in New York.
There are never pets in the apartment.
Guests can freely use the kitchen, dining and living areas to cook, eat and relax. Guests can eat at the high table, work at the desk and relax on the leather couch, which is all located in the common area.
The TV monitor is not connected to television, and not available for guest use.
The apartment has good wifi connection, which is rare in NYC.
Interaction with guests
You'll be sharing the apartment with me, not other Airbnb guests. I work at a local university and am out of the apartment from about 8am - 6pm week days. I am happy to give you advice about NYC and the neighborhood. I always enjoy hearing about peoples travels.
Other things to note
Parking: Guests can park for free on any of the streets. There is street cleaning once per week, which means you will have to move your car on certain days. As you can imagine, it's usually very difficult finding a park, however, eventually you'll find one.
No eating in the bedroom
Preferably no other guests since it is a shared space.
Hi, I am Dan, I moved from Australia in 2009, and now work at Columbia University in NYC. I am easy to get to know and sociable. I happy to point out some local attractions – being a tourist myself not too long ago! I have lived in Colorado, Maine, Texas, Australia, New Hampshire, Montana, Boston and Nebraska. I cant wait to meet you.
