About this listing
Located at the "Gateway to the South Valley" near the heart of Downtown, next to the Rio Grande River!!
Nestled in a Mountain like setting with Mature trees, and a cozy fire pit courtyard....
A cozy place that feels like home!
We have modeled this 1920's era adobe garage next to the "doctors" house, as a vintage ship!
As you enter, from the covered patio (cockpit) through the fully opening main salon door (that you can leave open) you will find a comfortable settee area with a large flat screen TV, hardwood floors and small jukebox for your tunes.
She is a complete ship, and going forward from the salon is the dining area/bar, perfect for morning meals and coffee. Adjacent to the dining area is additional seating and sleeping quarters.
Following the dining area is a full "galley" kitchen. It has a refrigerator/freezer, a full size stove/oven, coffee maker, microwave, toaster and plenty of counter and storage space. It will be stocked with some basic items for your enjoyment.
Port side of the cabin is entered from the salon. Your Stateroom with a queen sized Tempur-pedic bed and pillow, small sitting area, and vanity are completely private. The head (bathroom) includes a modern toilet, vintage sink and a comfy half glass stall shower. Access to this is through your "stateroom"...
If you have more than 2 guests we can convert the seating area in the main salon to a double sized bed. You then have 2 seperate sleeping quarters.
As our guests, you are welcome in the courtyard which has a pond/water feature with fish. A fire-pit (Fire-logs included) surrounded by hay bales for sitting and a swing for enjoying the fire. It is your space to enjoy! You can park your car at your front door and walk right in. You may also relax in the front yard that has a very park like feeling with some vegetables and fruits growing (seasonal)
Interaction with guests
We are always available to our guests by phone/text, even when we are out sailing the high seas. Most times we are home and available to help you with anything you may need. Feel free to visit or just enjoy the space in complete privacy.
We are located on the Route 66 Pre-1937 trail. This was a passage for travelers dating far back in history. An old neighborhood with many homes dating to the 1800's.
Our property is situated on a corner lot, with no immediate neighbors. Originally a Doctor's home, it was built in 1923 with a detached adobe garage which we have converted to a beautiful casita. We have almost an acre of land and enjoy having freedom to garden and have room for our guests.
We are 2 miles to Downtown Albuquerque!!
The Zoo, Botanical Gardens, and Tingley Beach are a 10 min bike ride or 5 min car ride away!! They are linked by a small scale train you can ride between them. It's lots of fun!! Tingley Beach offers fishing, a model boat pond, and pedal boat rentals.
The downtown theater, dining, bars, and shows are just blocks away. We are convenient to all of Albuquerque, You won't spend more than 5-45 minutes getting to any spot in town including the mountains and the Sandia Peak Tramway and Ski area.
As with any Urban environment please expect some noise or traffic during your stay. Our neighborhood is very unique and there are a blend of people around, we feel this is what makes it special here!
We are a block from the bus stop that will take you anywhere in ABQ. We are 1.9 miles away from the Rail Runner train station that will take you to Santa Fe or as far south as Belen. We are a 8 minute drive to the ABQ sunport. Downtown ABQ and it's nightlife is only a 5 minute drive or 10-15 minute bike ride away.
