About this listing
Our cosy studio flat, with daily service, offers all the space you need for a short stay, whether you are visiting the Swindon area on business or exploring the glories of The Cotswolds, Oxford or Bath, all within each reach of our doorstep.
Studio 10 is a self-contained first floor studio flat, designed and equipped for two people to share. It is furnished to hotel standards with contract standard beds, oak and leather furniture, and Italian porcelain shower room fittings.
The kitchenette is fitted with a microwave, fridge, kettle, toaster, crockery and cutlery so that guests can make hot snacks, light meals and drinks.
We know from our stays away for both business and pleasure that it's the small things that matter when you are away so, as well as the usual iron, hair drier and corkscrew, you'll find things like a torch in the bedside table.
The Studio has its own boiler so guests have access to lashings of hot water and manage the heating to suit their needs.
We provide a welcome pack of toiletries, hot beverages and snacks for our guests. All bed and bath linens are provided.
Our guests are welcome to sit in our courtyard garden. There are 2 pubs within easy walking distance, both serving food and drink. Walkers, runners and off road cyclists will find lots of quiet paths and lanes in and around the village, including Nightingale Woods, part of the Swindon Community Forest.
Interaction with guests
When you stay in Studio 10 we will give you a personal welcome and ensure you are happy with everything before leaving you to settle in. You have your own entrance so you can come and go as you please and we will respect your privacy, but we run our business from our home so we are always available if you need us. Our dog will usually give you a welcome bark but otherwise she is quiet and gentle.
We offer a daily service to our guests just like hotels do so you don't need to make your bed or do the washing up because we come in and do that for you each day.
We live in a quiet village on the outskirts of Swindon so we have the best of both worlds - a peaceful residential area close to the town and with easy access to main roads. The M4 is just 5 minutes drive to the south.
Swindon is home to the Steam Museum and The Designer Outlet Village and its major employers include Honda Manufacturing, Intel, Burmah Castrol, Nationwide and WH Smith.
Visitor attractions like Stone Henge, Avebury and Westonbirt Arboretum can be reached in under an hour, as can Oxford, Bath, Cheltenham and Salisbury. The Cotswolds are also on our doorstep - the nearest Cotswold village at the head of the Thames is just 15 minutes away by car.
There is no bus service through the village. Regular buses in and out of Swindon, to Oxford and Megabuses to London, run from a local retail park a short drive or taxi ride away, which can also be reached on foot (20 minute walk) but there is a short section where you have to walk along the road. Swindon Railway Station is approximately 7 miles away. The M4 is about 5 minutes drive away.
We want you to feel at home while you stay here so we have few house rules, except that we would prefer you not to wash up in the shower room sink - we clean and tidy your room each day and do the washing up! O yes and please shut the garden gate when you leave, otherwise our dog will think she's invited to go with you and walk into the road.

I am an entrepreneur, would-be writer, Church bell ringer, and food lover. I live with my husband of 30 years and our spaniel. When I travel I like to stay off the beaten track away from the hustle and bustle, even on city breaks,in unusual places and get a feel for the locality, its traditions, history and customs. I like to shop for local foods as well as eating out but will always prefer a local tip rather than a tour guide recommendation. I enjoy the theatre and the arts - I'm eclectic in my tastes. Mostly I love remote or tucked away places where I can walk, think, discover, dream and write. I travel for business too.
