Mama Simba's Home-base is more Than a bed and breakfast! When you arrive, you are greeted with smiles and fresh fruit juice! The staff prepare a wonderful breakfasts but be prepared for delicious, large portions and much variety! You will find everyone willing to help with any activity you can imagine! They have safari guides and local dancers on speed dial, as well as artists , coffee growers and Masai chieftains! I will be back, for sure!

We had an amazing time at mama Simbas lovely place. Mama Simba and her family welcomed us with open arms, giving us the perfect start in this lovable country. The rooms were clean, the campsite pretty and we totally felt at home! On our second day we did a trip to a waterfall and a coffee tour, Mama simba was joining us and making sure we had an amazing experience! We can recommend the place to the fullest! Asante for everything!

Wow! Mama Simba made arrangements for me though I was arriving late from Mwanza. Peter, her son, was there to receive me at 2 am. The place truly embodies the traditional African hospitality where mama Simba welcomed me with open arms and a wide smile like a long lost member of the family and took time to join me at the breakfast table. She also told me quite a lot about the Moshi and Mt. Kilimanjaro on our way to the airport. The place was family and now my home away from home. For any visitor in Tanzania, I would recommend Moshi as a destination, not only to see Mt. Kilimanjaro but also experience first class African hospitality that I too experienced during by brief stay

Mama Simba's is a wonderful little spot to immerse yourself in local village life. Mama Simba was not around during my stay but Peter was fantastic - making sure I had everything I needed, booked a day trip to a local waterfall and coffee farm and made sure I got to my next air BnB place ok. The room is basic but comfortable and has everything you need. I enjoyed going for walks in the village in the afternoon. If I find myself in Tanzania again (hopefully yes!) then would definitely stay at Mama Simba's again.

The location is gorgeous, the rooms are so clean and comfortable, the staff was lovely and although I didn't meet Esther as she was away on business, her son Peter was lovely and made my stay comfortable and easy. I even learned how to make local dishes with Upendo. I really enjoyed my stay and highly recommend a stay at Mama Simba's!!

Mama Simba is a great host. She welcomed us really early in the morning (5am) and offered us a special breakfast. We had the feeling to be a part of a big and nice family. Esther and her son Peter were very helpful and the breakfast was really fresh and tasty. The open community area sorrounded by the rooms were clean an cozy. We are really thankful and can deeply recommend her wonderful homebase!

Mama Simba, thank you so much for being such a gracious host - I felt at home right away and you made me feel important by checking in to make sure I was looked after and/ or to talk about how my day went. I loved meeting/getting to know you and your family over the 9 days I stayed. I will forever remember my time spent with you - I will be back! Hugs, Jess For those wondering about booking here, you won't be disappointed. The location is great, just outside of town - walkable (40 min or so) or can easily take a bajaji (or other form or taxi). The food is delicious, and the rooms are clean, comfortable and private. And like I mentioned above, Mama and her family will take great care of you, whatever your needs.

Mama Simba is a skillful and talented language trainer of both Swahili and English and competent cross-cultural facilitator. She is not only a program director for Experience Tanzania and a community leader, but also a "dear mother" - loving, caring, charismatic, approachable, supportive and open to accommodate new ideas.

Her life philosophies have been fighting against personal and community poverty, supporting others, and educational development. For her, it is always a great privilege and honor to work with the local and global communities, to be trusted and to be given the opportunity to serve the world at large.
