Beautiful brand new one bedroom apartment in Garðabær with a lovely decor and amazing view over Reykjavík and Reykjanes. The apartment has a private balcony and can sleep 4 persons. Reykjavik downtown is only 10 minutes away with a car.

The space

This cosy apartment is situated in Urriðaholt which is a new neighbourhood in Garðabær. The location is beautiful and the view is great and a lot of new houses are currently being built there.

Interaction with guests

I live in London but I´m always reachable by phone and I can respond quickly to any matters as I have people who live close by that help out with the apartment.

Other things to note

Ikea and a great supermarket is within a walking distance and there is a bus stop close to Ikea that goes downtown.

Really lovely apartment. We all felt very much at home there. Great location and very easy to find. The apartment has everything you need for a comfortable stay. Highly recommended if you are visiting Iceland.

Very nice place. About no more than 15 mins drive from centre of Reykjavik. Excellent if you don't plan to spend much time in Reykjavik and very useful as a base for exploring the rest of Iceland (it had parking). Close to IKEA (where lots of Icelandics appeared to dine in) and a supermarket. Some quite nice views and plenty of light, as well as a well-equipped kitchen. Would happily stay again. Check in and out was super easy and convenient. There was construction when we stayed but you could not hear it at all (nor see very much of it either).

A lovely big apartment 15 mins drive from Reykjavik. We had a lovely stay, it was in a quiet area with easy access to the city. The apartment was very comfortable - we highly recommend it. There is a super market nearby - so no long trips to get food. Highly recommend!

Vigdis answered all of the questions we had before we travelled, which put our minds at ease before setting off. The apartment was exactly as described (well, even better!!) and Vigdis had left a note with some useful information such as where to catch the bus from, and how to get to the nearest supermarket. There is some construction work occurring in the area during the day, but we stayed up chasing the northern lights on a couple of nights and the noise didn't disturb us too much the following morning.

The apartment was lovely, very modern and we'll furnished and decorated. Nice central location, only a short drive into the city centre however there is still a lot of construction work going on the the neighbourhood but that didn't bother us. Had a bit of miscommunication at the start regarding instructions on how to get into the flat so we ended up trying to get into the wrong apartment building but that was eventually solved after phoning the host.

Vigdís' apartment is really beautiful - it's all brand new, and in a newly built apartment. Check in is really easy with a code, and flexible any time. The apartment is spacious and really comfortable, with beautiful fittings and furniture. It's a great location for the capital, and the highways to drive out into Iceland. I'd love to visit again in the future!

I am a proud mother of three children. I love to travel so therefore I like Airbnb so much since it allows you to get less expensive accommodation. I have a business degree and a MBA degree and I have mostly been working in finance during my career years. But recently I decided to try something new so now I am in London studying Interior Design and loving it :-)
