Bonne Suite consists of three larges suites and a lobby in a 200 years old extensively renovated (finished in 2012) barn and offers a great mix of old world atmosphere and modern comfort. We operate it as a small boutique hotel (also see the Bonne Suite web site) but, after using AirBnB for a holiday in the US, we decided to rent out the rooms through AirBnB as well. The hotel has three large suites and a beautiful lobby with sandstone walls, a high ceilings and a fire place.

The garden has been designed by my wife, who is a professional garden designer. The design is based on the English and Dutch formal gardens from the 17th century and is very quiet. A great place to be when the weather is right, which in this area it often is.
STUFF TO DO
Bonne Suite is located close (20 minutes by car) to Heidelberg, Mannheim, Speyer and Karlsruhe and many other interesting cities. It is also close to Golf Club St-Leon-Rot; the best golfclub in Germany and many time host of the German Open.
The centres of Heidelberg, Mannheim, Schwetzingen and Karlsruhe are all about 20 minutes away. We also have a bus stop in fromt of the hotel which will take you directly to Heidelberg center.
BABY BEDS AND FOLDING COUCH
We have a baby bed for your usage and one of the suites has an additional folding couch. The couch is for families with children who would like to have only one room. Both cost 10 Euros per person per night. Please contact us throughh AirBnB if you would like to use these.
As our guest you will have access to the whole house and garden. There are two exceptions however:
- the boiler room with washing machine an dryer; if you would like to use the washing machine please ask and we'll be happy to operate it for you.
- The kitchen in the lobby; you can use the other three kitchens in the suites
Interaction with guests
The amount of interaction we will have depends on you. We normally walk through the lobby a couple of times a day to walk our dog in the fields behind the house; if you don't want that, please let us know.
What I love about the neighbourhood is that it is quite yet close to many attractions including Heidelberg, Mannheim, Schwetzingen and Bruchsal. And of course the fact that Germany's best golf course is only 5 minutes away.
During the week public transport is relatively frequent although not as fast as getting around by car. During the weekends you should really have a car or be prepared to spend a lot of time traveling.
In general, we worked very hard on the renovation of this historic building and we hope that you will treat it with respect.
I'm a dutch industrial designer, living in Germany. I design new products and strategies for SAP and also have a couple of private design related ventures, including a small hotel which my wife and I redesigned (Boardinghouse Hotel Bonne Suite now also on AirBnB).
I love sailing and hiking when I have time, spending time with my family and enjoy good food.
