The house is set in a rural area, with fantastic views of the mountains, situated on the wild atlantic way, yet only 5Km drive to the town of falcarragh. It is ideal area for walkers, fishing, surfing, photography and for young families with kids
Welcome to our House description, and we welcome you to our locality, and the comfort of our house. Please find a description of the space in our house. THIS LISTING IS FOR BOOKING THE ROOM WITH THE THREE BEDS AND CAN ACCOMMODATE 4 PEOPLE. see other listings if more beds required.
We have 3 rooms available that can cater for different guests, a family room, which is booked through this page, a double bed, and two single beds, with the option of a fold away bed if required.
The second room consists of a double bed and would suit a couple or a single person, and the third room consists of two single beds..
The bedrooms contain for your Comfort
1. Tv with Saorview terrestrial channels.
2. Complimentary tea/coffee provided in the rooms.
3. Real beds.
The upstairs rooms have a shared bathroom and electric shower.
Downstairs also has a bathroom/shower room available, both bathrooms are spacious . All rooms have central heating with plenty of space within each room.
Each room has plenty of sockets for laptops etc, and children dvds available to watch, to keep the little ones entertained
The house is Modern and sits in a rural area of natural beauty.
The breakfast consists of a selection of cereals, fruit, eggs, toast served with tea/coffee
There is plenty of space for parking .
The area is widely known for its love of the Irish language, which can be heard spoken in our house, and the surrounding areas
The local Pubs (Bars) offer great cuisine and live music, where the local community will welcome you with open arms.
The main visitor attractions are Glenveagh National Park , which is one of six national parks in Ireland. Situated in the Northwest of Co. Donegal, Glenveagh encompasses some 16,000 hectares in the heart of the Derryveagh Mountains.( which can be seen from the house) Such a great wilderness is the haunt of many interesting plants and animals. These lands were managed as a private deer forest before becoming a national park in 1975. The derryveagh mountains are just a walk away, and cater for all levels of hilwalkers.
Ionad cois locha Dunlewy is also another You can take a step back in time and visit the homestead of the world renowned weaver Manus Ferry and enjoy stories of times gone by from our experienced tour guides or take a trip out on the Dunlewey Lough on our tour of the lake where you will pass the Guinness estate (keep an eye out for the green lady who is said the haunt the house) If you prefer to stay on dry land you can take a ride on our train and for those who have plenty of energy to burn off we have an adventure play area full of swings, slides, climbing frames, zip-wires, rodeo bull, climbing walls, kayaks, and bouncy castles.
The beaches are renowned for their surfing waves, kayaking, or for just relaxing.
The two main mountains both Errigal and Muckish are 20 min away, and both are on a par for different climbing abilities. The views from both summits are fabulous, don't forget your camera.
This part of donegal provides stunning scenery, entertainment, both during the winter and more so during the summer months.

As this is a living family home, where our living area is downstairs,( we are there for your assistance 24/7 should the need arise), so Guests have access to the upstairs area, which contain the three rooms, The outside facilities, which contain the decking and patio, are there for you to use. And secure car parking, and guests can use the dinning area should they wish to eat carry out dinners.

Interaction with guests
Please feel free to ask any questions during your stay, we would only be to glad to help you in anyway, whether that's you looking for information about the area, local customs, points of interest etc. As much as you will learn from us, we too will learn from you. Our motto is 'ARRIVE AS STRANGERS, LEAVE AS FRIENDS'
The neighbourhood is quiet, and this setting gives it's unique values, where you can stop and have the gossip with the locals, who will gladly have the chat, witness the tradition of turf cutting, and a pace of life long lost in some areas.
The irish language is strong here , and spoken in every day convesations.
The main eating establishments are the Gweedore bar, and enjoy some weekend music in the Corner bar, shamrock or the loft bar.
Our house is set in a rural part of the country, yet only 10min drive to the nearest town of Falcaragh and the gaeltacht village of Gortahork.
The main visitor attractions like Glenveagh National park, Ionad Cois Locha, and dunlewy horse riding club are all within a short drive, around 10-20min drive.
Falcarragh also has a nine hole par golf course, and the area of falcarragh and the surrounding area would locally be known as Cloughaneely
Bicycle hire can be organised from falcarragh,
Our first priority is for our guests to thoroughly enjoy their stay within our accommodation.
But we have a few small rules.
Smoking will be allowed outside of the house
Quiet house between 11pm and 8am,
No pets allowed as we have two small dogs ourselves...child friendly.
Drying and washing facilities are available for a small additional fee, which can be agreed during the stay.
Our house is modern and was built around 10 years ago.
I am married to Anne and a we have two active kids a 10 and a 12 year old girl and boy , and two small friendly dogs.
I work at effective offshore as a safety instructor.
In my downtime i like to go fishing/kayaking, but with a big emphasis on my main hobby of photography, mainly landscape and night photography.
I will gladly pass on my knowledge and locations for some great landscape shots.
Anne is a native irish speaker and will gladly teach you a couple of Irish focail (words).
