I brought my 11 and 17 year old children to the island for a few days. We had an absolute blast! It was like having our own private for in the lake. We fished, swam, played games, watched the eagles, and just hung out. We really enjoyed ourselves. Thanks for making such a neat place available.

My girlfriend and I spent a long weekend up here and it was absolutely amazing! We got dropped off by Merrill's Marina and spent the weekend swimming, stargazing, and canoeing around Sebec lake. The cabin/island was very clean and Amy was very welcoming and informative. Defiantly visit the western part of the lake if you want a nice day paddle!

Four of us spent a relaxing weekend in this wonderful island. We found the cottage to be very comfortable and clean. The porch was a bit bigger than we had expected, which was great, as we spent a lot of time reading while there. I would highly recommend Big Pine Island to anyone looking for a quiet getaway on a beautiful private island in Maine.

We had an incredible time on Pine Island. It was everything we wanted and more. Amy was very easy to communicate with and we met her husband Steve upon our arrival. He explained everything very well and was very helpful. From Kayaking under the stars to magical meals on the water it was a dream vacation. The weather was perfect, the bald eagles were beautiful, and the bugs were minimal. The water was very warm for a lake and we swam every day (enjoyed the big floatie that they provided). We rented a boat at the marina to get to and from which lent itself to really fun boat rides over the large lake during the day as well. (Merrill's Marina was wonderful and very lovely to rent from as well). There were plenty of fish for fishing, and some friendly frogs to hang out with in the back of the island. Honestly the worst part was having to leave at the end of our stay. We'd love to come back again and are thankful for the opportunity to have had such a special vacation on our own private island. I highly recommend this to others and we hope to come back soon!

We had a wonderful week on Pine Island. Arrived in between showers but beautiful weather followed. Cabin is small and cozy, simple but well set up. Very comfortable double bed. The location is great and plenty for outdoor minded kids and grown up kids to do. The only downside is the new eagle chicks as they are big attraction for locals and so a lot of eagle-watching boat traffic - but not too intrusive. Amy very helpful on all arrangements.

Amy User ProfileAmy is a superhost.

A native to Moosehead Lake and Maine, I enjoy nothing more than to introduce my part of this beautiful world to new visitors. My husband Steve & I manage 22 waterfront vacation properties for winter, spring, summer and fall visits. The best part of hosting is the ability to meet so many incredible people from all over the world. I do what I love and love what I do! When not hosting, I enjoy skiing, sailing, paddling, diving, hiking and traveling internationally as much as possible with my two young boys. Our favorite day trips are only a few miles away on one of Moosehead Lake's secluded islands and pebble beaches. Our favorite city to visit is Old Quebec, only a 2.5 hours drive. After a long Maine Winter you can find us thawing out in the Dutch Netherland Antilles or the BVI.
