Description

The space

The apartment is in the heart of Williamsburg, one of NYC's trendiest and liveliest neighborhoods. It's on a quiet street, just a few blocks from the water and park so you can enjoy the sunset with a beautiful view of Manhattan. There are tons of amazing restaurants, bars, art galleries, coffee shops, and boutiques just around the corner.

It's a 3 minute walk to the L train and just one stop from Manhattan and three stops (Union Square) from all major trains. The G is a 10 minute walk, connecting you to South Brooklyn and Queens.

The apartment is on the 3rd floor and overlooks the shared backyard so it's very quiet and away from any streets. The room has large windows, a very comfortable queen-size bed and a large closet for ample storage. There is also a tv (hidden in pictures behind the beaded Frida Kahlo curtain) so you can cuddle up in bed and watch movies. I have a very eclectic mix of decoration and items I purchase during travels to South America, Africa, and the Middle East so the room has a very unique, homey style and a warm and earthy, but vibrant color scheme.

The kitchen has marble counters and brand new stainless steel appliances as well as a Vitamix which is great for morning smoothies! The shared bathroom has a large vanity mirror with Broadway lights.

The living room is medium-sized and has a comfortable couch and antique wine cabinet. Of course, you are welcome to use the wine glasses and serving utensils in there!

We also have a three person dining table that can convert into a six person dining table.

Heat, electricity, gas, and internet are ALL included.

You have access to the backyard and we have a free washer and dryer for the building in the basement.

There are only two other units in the building and all of the tenants are great people!

Guest access

You will have access to the shared living room, kitchen, bathroom, and large, sunny backyard.

Interaction with guests

Two lovely ladies are in the two other rooms and will be there to help you with any questions you may have!

The neighbourhood

Williamsburg is the place to be. It has a thriving culture and food scene. Everyone comes to this neighborhood on the weekends to experience its unique culture. If you're looking for that authentic New York experience, this is it!

The apartment is in the heart of it all and you will love being able to step out into the middle of a thriving, hip neighborhood.

Getting around

You can access everything by food. There is the L train at Bedford just 4 blocks away and just one stop from Manhattan.

If you want to go to South Brooklyn (Park Slope, Prospect Park, etc) you can use the G which is a 10 minute walk.

Other things to note

There is the BEST coffee shop (Blue Bottle) right around the corner, an amazing yoga studio a block away, tons of places for healthy and gourmet food shopping, and The Mast Brother's Chocolate Shop is a block away as well as their chocolate elixir bar!

House Rules

We have a general guideline that dishes should be done right away, but if you're in a rush there is a 24 hour grace period.

If you are going to have a friend over in the evening, please try your best to inform the roommates ahead of time.

Just generally be considerate and make sure to clean up after yourself and not make loud noise that may disturb the roommates or neighbors late at night.

Dina's place was the best stay That could have had ever! I didn't meet Dina but her roommates helped me with everything, being always able to answer any question I could have. Location is perfect, few blocks away from Bedford Ave, one stop away from Manhattan. I would highly recommend Dina's place. Private bedroom, safe area, quiet apartment and wonderful people!

Having stayed the first 2 nights of my trip on the 27th floor 2 blocks from Times Square, I was expecting this to be a downgrade - however I absolutely fell in Love with Williamsburg, super laid back, so much cool stuff going on and far less touristy- and the apartment was very warm, cosy and comfortable. Nice big double bed, clean and modern kitchen (although I ate out every meal) and a very warm powerful shower, 2 strides from the bedroom. The location is immense: 1 1/2 blocks from the main action on Bedford avenue, and 2 blocks from the river. So many good diners, LOADS of independent bars and shops within a 1min walk radius so you really don't have to go too far, but if you still want to get to Manhattan, door to door it's about 20 mins, including walking to the station, getting the metro and walking the other end. Dina was a pleasure to deal with although sadly we never met (hence why the room was available) however, Alex her flat mate was super nice and friendly, despite me changing my arrival time several times! It really feels like a real home in New York (Brooklyn) but you can have as much peace and quiet as you choose - perhaps the lack of curtains on the bedroom window might upset really light sleepers, but that's not me so I was fine. Thanks for a great stay, will definitely be back if they have me:-) Simon

I've been living in NYC for 9 years now, and I grew up in France and Kenya as a result of my parents' work. For fun I like to gather friends to share good food, music, dance, and conversation :)

I'm a very easy-going person and like to surround myself with interesting, out going, and considerate people.
