Here is some comments of the house from the guests:

"We had 2 amazing nights staying at Jinn's house in Kyoto. We were drawn the to the traditional look and feel of the photos and it was even more beautiful when we arrived. The house is very spacious and it was certainly very indulgent for us (just the two of us) to have the whole place to ourselves! Jinn has a great attention to detail - we loved all the beautiful plates / crockery and the furnishings around the house. A highlight included looking through the window while having my morning tea and spotting a huge deer looking straight back at me! But most of all we really enjoyed meeting Jinn in person, who met us on arrival and was so nice and helpful, taking us through the house and explaining to us how to get around on the bus etc. He even took us to a flea market in a temple the day that we arrived that we wouldn't have known about / found otherwise. Thank you again Jinn! We will be back!"

"We couldn't possibly be more pleased with our experience at Jinn's house. Traditional, spacious, well equipped with an amazing garden that is a wonder by it's self. Jinn was an amazing host. Always ready to answer all our messages within minutes. Polite, well organised and punctual. We definitely recommend this house to anyone looking for an authentic Kyoto experience."

5 Reasons you should Book this house
--------------------------------------------------------------------

1: Even better than Machiya
Machiya is traditional in town area but This house is very spacious and super traditional with Japanese garden.
Plus It has Big Hinoki Bath now.

2: Super Quiet Neighborhood yet still convenient
You can hear birds singing. hardly no cars passes yet 24H convenient store and super market is 8 mins walk away.

3: There is Bus to everywhere.

Bus to Ginkakuji 5 mins
Bus to Kinkakuji 37mins
Bus to Downtown 20mins
Bus to Kiyomizu Temple
20mins to downtown and walk to GION
Bus to Kyoto Station 50 mins
Bus and train to Arashiyama 1 hour

4: Really nice Cafe is close
Prinz Cafe, Sougen Cafe

5: This area of Kyoto is very expensive area to own the house.
it is rare to have airbnb around this area with big Japanese Garden.
The house faces south so the sunshine is just really really nice.

--------------------------------------------------------------------
3 Reasons you might not want to Book Yagi Shirakawa Tei
--------------------------------------------------------------------

1: 20 minutes to Downtown.
It is either you want to stay in the spacious house in peace with quiet neighborhood or small house that can be loud in downtown area. 20 mins to downtown is not that bad. the bus comes every 15-20 mins. 230 yen per ride.

2: Slope to the house is hard.
walking down to the street is easy but walking up to the house is breath taking I mean tough. so I recommend to take taxi the first day if you have many luggage.
But the view from the house is very nice and since it is remote from the city, its quiet and peaceful

3. If you dislike nature in the summer
The house is surrounded by nature
we live together on earth with animals (dear might show up) and bugs such natural creatures.
If you don't like them, you should just book hotels.

--------
F A Q
--------
Q How convenient to Downtown?
A The Bus comes every 10-20 minutes to Downtown and takes about 20 minutes. Shijo Kawaramachi bus stop

Q What is closest bus stop?
A Kitashirakawa Bettocho or Kitashirakawa Shibusecho

Q How do we get to your house from Kyoto Station?
A I really recommend to take a Taxi from the Kyoto Station
it will be around (PHONE NUMBER HIDDEN)yen~ it takes about 30mins
There is MK TAXI on south of Kyoto station. They are so polite and cheap taxi with good manner so I recommend you to go south of Kyoto station for MK taxi station (ask if you don't know where it is)

Q Can I use the whole house?
A Yes. You will have as much privacy as possible.

Q Can I cook in the Kitchen?
A Yes! there is enough equipment to cook and little selection of seasonings

Q Is the house yours or your parents?
A Yes it is mine! I bought the house 2015 and I reformed myself.
I would like to live here in future.

Q Is the house safe?
A it is quite expensive area to own the house in kyoto. Everyone around is nice.

Q What is the best way to get to your house?
A If you are coming from Kansai airport
I recommend to take MK SHUTTLE BUS (please search on Internet)
The shuttle bus will take you to my house directly door to door service. It is cheaper than Train + taxi and it goes directly to my house. It is 4200yen per person and they can carry the luggage as well. It takes about 2:45-3 hours. I recommend to reserve one month before for this service.

Q is it ok if we arrive late ?
A if you would like to check in late
I might be able to welcome you but it depends on my schedule.. It takes 30 mins to explain about the house so It will get late

Interaction with guests

- I can tell you what is good spot to site seeing in Kyoto.
just ask me anything!
-If you would like to have a beer or know how to have fun in Kyoto.
Let me know!

Other things to note

The house is surrounded by the nature, you may encounter some nature bugs which all the house around here should have, if you have a garden.
I hope you would understand.

Since the house is up on the hill, you might find it hard to crime up the hill to get to the house. however many elderly people living here.

Non smoking around the house

I strongly suggest to take a taxi the first arrival to the House.
It's 30mins by a taxi to the House and costs about 3000yen to 3500yen. 20mins to downtown Shijo by a bus no.3.
15mins by a taxi.

Jinn's place is an easy choice for where to stay to Kyoto. The house is beautiful and in a quiet, historic neighborhood. The bath is incredible and Jinn was one of the most accommodating Airbnb hosts I've ever had the pleasure of working with.

The most cozy and clean accommodation during our trip in Japan this time. The nice and attentive host who gave a few tips of travellig Kyoto to first-time tourist like us left a bottle of champagne as present, a lot of favorite Japanese tea and even a baby bed for our baby boy. Hope to stay longer next trip

Jinn is a wonderful host and his house could not be more beautiful. Staying here is a special experience our group felt lucky to have. We loved: biking around the city, the bath (!!!), relaxing in the garden, and discovering great ramen nearby. The busses are super easy, and if your active, many things are a quick jog or bike ride away. We didn't feel hindered by being less centralized and enjoy the peaceful neighborhood. Jinn was so helpful with recommendations, arranging cabs and welcoming us to his home. Can't recommend enough!

Where to begin?? Jinn and his house are awesome!! For anyone fond of Kyoto and Japanese culture, Jinn’s place will only bring you to a next level of superb experience which is rare to find elsewhere. We failed to book last year and this time we made it!! Everything, every moment and every breath we had during our stay at Jinn’s house had surpassed our expectation (which was set quite high at the first place). My husband wanted to join me writing his review too, i.e. Jinn, you are really really nice, your house is fantastic! We really hope to trip back again.(ps:大路边有家teppanyaki很不错喔,叫Kimassi,旁边就是一家中华料理,好像斜对面路口是家fresco ,但店家英语不咋的,所以点餐只能乱来了) ---Samuel Jinn has pulled his heart as an artist and host into his house, and amazingly he is young, handsome and considerate. We feel completely home away from home!! Thank you Jinn san!! Love Kyoto more, can’t wait to plan our next trip.

Highly recommended The house is big enough for a big family Though there's only 2 of us we still enjoyed our stay. we never find it's too big. For people like us who can barely speak Japanese it's really wonderful to find Netflix on TV. Jinn speaks very good English so it's really easy to communicate with him on anything. Also he replies in seconds! Very quiet in nights and there's flowers blooming in the yard. You can sit in the bathtub open the window, havea glass of wine and get fully relaxed in nights

Jinn is a super nice landlord, appointed time waiting before we arrived, welcome and help our luggage, very great enthusiasm of English. He with a lot of time for us to introduce housing close to the bubble bath, even electric blanket and boiler. There are many moving small details, blankets and each corridor of night light in the living room. Kitchen and tea and coffee, instant noodles, for you and all sorts of spices. Jinn house built up to the mountain, it is said that have been 70 years of history, the garden is very beautiful, especially when it rains, because is located in the mid-levels, can see the sunset of Kyoto, sunset dyed the sky red, must remember to look at.
