I am an Artist / Photographer born in Kyoto
I started hosting because I love meeting people from all over the world and making new friends.

This place used to be one big guesthouse, but during Covid19, I have stopped running the guesthouse and I moved in with my wife and 2 kids.
Still I didn't want to give up so I left the good parts.
Private cypress bath and renovated rooms and made another entrance for the Guests. So now it is 2 separate house

- About the House -

I live by the art guest house with my family 😊

This house used to be rented as a whole guesthouse, but during Covid, my wife, kids, and I moved in.
However, I didn’t want to stop hosting, so I redesigned the space to keep the guest area separate.

Now there is a private entrance for guests, so you can enjoy your stay with full privacy.
We only share the front area and garden space.

You might occasionally hear my kids laughing, crying, or footsteps — just part of a real Kyoto family life experience 🙂

- Why Guests Love This Place -

✨ Peaceful, quiet neighborhood with beautiful nature
✨ Traditional Japanese house with a modern touch
✨ Large private Hinoki bath (rare in Kyoto homes!)
✨ Lovely garden views from the tatami room
✨ Easy access to sightseeing spots by bus

- A Few Things to Consider -

This place might not be for everyone, so just to be honest:

・It takes about 20–30 minutes to reach downtown
・There is a steep slope to the house (a bit tough with luggage)
・It’s a quiet local area (not many English menus nearby)
・You may encounter nature (insects, maybe even deer 🦌)
・My family lives next door (not a completely isolated villa)

But in return, you’ll get:
→ Peace, nature, and a truly local Kyoto experience 🌿

- Access -

Bus access is easy:
・Ginkakuji: 5 mins
・Downtown (Shijo Kawaramachi): 20–30 mins
・Kinkakuji: ~35 mins
・Arashiyama: ~1 hour

Nearest bus stop: about 8 min walk

- Quick FAQ -

・Check-in: I’ll usually welcome you and explain the house
・Luggage: possible before check-in (please confirm timing)
・Early check-in: usually not possible (cleaning 10:00–15:00)
・Taxi recommended for first arrival (especially with luggage)

- Final Note -

If you’re looking for a peaceful, authentic Kyoto stay, I think you’ll really love it here 😊

Looking forward to hosting you!

My work: photographer / artist
My name is Jinn. I live in Kyoto with my wife and our two daughters, and I work as a photographer and artist. I love art, photography, and fashion. I began hosting traditional Japanese house with a beautiful garden. I fell in love with its calm atmosphere and wanted to share that feeling with others. Reading kind reviews means so much to me. Knowing that guests find peace, inspiration, and memorable moments here truly makes me happy. I hope you’ll love this home as much as I do.
