Fabulous sunsets! Quiet and peaceful. Great for walks in the countryside or forest. Cultural events and other great entertainment at The Chandler, Randolph, Tunbridge Fairgrounds, local farmers' markets, country fairs. A real queen bed, single sofa bed (a queen size airbed is also available), comfy chair, private bath. Homemade granola and pastries, fruit, coffee or tea, for breakfast in our sunny breakfast nook. We cook!
The bathroom includes a shower and a large soaking tub. There is a desk in the suite - separate from the main bedroom. This is the area with a very comfortable sofa bed (and or airbed), and a large closet. There is a microwave oven and coffee pot in the room for your convenience.
Guests are welcome to use the living room and dining room, as well as the porches and decks, fields and forest.
Bring your snowshoes or hiking boots and enjoy our trails in the forest.
Interaction with guests
We can offer tips on places to visit, restaurants, events such as Tunbridge World's Fair, Chandler Center for Arts, outdoor activities like xc skiing, snowshoeing, bicycling, and swimming, or just relax on our deck. If you prefer privacy, we will respect that.
In Randolph (15 minutes drive) offers exceptional Northern Thai food. at Saap Restaurant; One Main Tap and Grill serves local burgers, veg dishes, craft beers, and Black Krim features farm to table small plates plus an excellent wine list. Also close by: Ariel's Restaurant (closes in November for several months) Brookfield for fine dining; Worthy Burger in South Royalton for local burgers, veg options, craft beers. Brocklebank Craft Brewing is just up the hill, open Fridays and Saturdays for tastings. The Playhouse Theatre is a cooperatively owned small movie house in Randolph with current films changing weekly.
No local buses or subway. If you want to come by train, we will pick you up at the Amtrak station in Randolph. Or at the Dartmouth Coach in Hanover or Lebanon, Lebanon airport, or anywhere within 40 miles!
If you come in winter, please be prepared for snow on the roads. They are well maintained, but you should have good tires. AWD is always a good idea as well.
Other things to note
We are on a very well maintained country road. Few cars, great for walking. Vermont has a lot of bike trails, mountains to hike, rivers to swim. We can help you find them!
