Description

The space

Wonderful, small and basic cape on 20 acres with spectacular, stunning views of Burke Mountain to one side and pond/chapel/hillside to the other. Two bedroom, loft and bathroom with shower upstairs; living room, Kitchen/dining room, mudroom and second bath with tub/shower downstairs. Please note that 2nd bedroom is open on one side to the stairs so doesn't offer as much privacy as the main bedroom. Brand new queen bed with memory foam top in the master, new single over double bunkbed, new futon sofa with innerspring coils and an extra "flip-chair" bed. Sorry, no dishwasher and no television.

Guest access

The entire home and property is yours to enjoy. There is a barn and detached garage, great for storing one car and as many bikes as you want to bring. Spigot and hose for washing bikes, beautiful outdoor areas, including front porch, for relaxing and enjoying quintessential, rural Vermont. Steel fire pit for s'more making and relaxing out back.

Interaction with guests

We live 2.5 miles away if you need us but will respect your privacy.

The neighbourhood

If you've ridden the Kingdom Trails or taken walks on Darling Hill you likely recognize this property. The house is on Darling Hill, truly one of the most scenic roads in all of Vermont.

Great place for access to the Kingdom trails. We felt so welcome and the house had everything we needed. Storage for our bikes in the garage, spigot outside so we could hose them of. We will definitely consider this place another time we visit.

As others have noted, this house is ideally situated for accessing the Kingdom Trails network. There was more than enough space for our 4 guests. We cooked all of our meals here, making use of the stove and the grill on the back porch. The fire pit was quite nice as well. Zoe was quick to respond to all of our emails, and was kind enough to be flexible with our arrival and departure times. Looking forward to a return trip sometime next summer!

Cozy place with great views in the mountains. Within minutes to Lyndonville, Burke and Lake Willoughby. Hiking and biking trails aplenty. The weekend went by way too quick! Great and responsive host - Thank you Zoe!

This is our second time at the Darling Hill house... within the same year! I initially put the wrong dates to stay and Zoe quickly adjusted that for us without issue !We already can't wait to be back in May when we plan our next trip to kingdom trails ! This place is amazing! Zoe is a fantastic host , there's always the necessities here when we arrive! Such a beautiful place !

We came to ride the Kingdom Trails and this house has the perfect location right on Darling Hill Road close to all of the trails. The house is spotless and provided everything we needed. The living room is bigger than expected with plenty of seating. The garage provided an ideal spot to work on and store our bikes. Great house in a great location!

Our experience in Lyndonville was absolutely wonderful. We came for a wedding at the beautiful church immediately across from the house on Darling Hill road. Just a mile up the road was the Wildflower Inn (great for breakfast) and a shop for renting bikes right next to the entrance to a vast network of biking trails. We did have a car to explore some of the area but we would've been happy to get around via walking or biking as well.
