The space

This beautiful home boasts Craftsman Style Architecture and borders Santa Barbara’s world renowned East Beach. This historic property was built around 1912 and was used as the Santa Barbara Yacht Club during the roaring 20's, however, in recent years, was one of the most established Bed & Breakfasts in Santa Barbara with more than 30 years of clientele.

It operated as a B&B since 1980 and converted to a vacation rental in 2014. Experience a part of Santa Barbara's history at it's finest in this glorious beachside neighborhood location. Located 1 block from East Beach, Santa Barbara's best swimming beach.

As you walk up the steps to your AirBnB rental, you may want to stop on the front porch and enjoy the comfortable atmosphere that provides plenty of seating for guests, this is one feature of the home that offers a true Craftsman style experience. The first floor of the house is warm and inviting with a large family room with a gas fireplace, comfortable seating, a large flat screen television and a spacious dining room. There is a fully stocked kitchen with a commercial grade refrigerator, large stove top Wolf range and all the essentials you would need to cook a family dinner.

There are 5 bedrooms total, 3 of which are master suites with the first being ground floor. The spacious master on the first floor is the only room downstairs and has a king-size bed, en-suite bath and a nice size porch. The second level of the home has two master suites and two guest rooms that each have their own name so guests who stayed at the B&B could identify their rooms. The two master suites on the second floor each have a balcony that capture a Mountain View, king-size beds, and en-suite baths. Both guest bedrooms on the second level have queen-size beds and en-suite baths. All rooms in the house are tastefully and comfortably decorated giving you a home-away-from-home feeling.

It is a fine place for a large group. Because of unusual severe storms we had a temporary issue of lack of hot water, but it was resolved.

Our group of 10 longtime friends stayed at the Old Yacht Club Inn for a long wedding weekend and it was perfect for our purposes. The kitchen is well stocked with cooking utensils, a huge refrigerator and dishwasher. The 5 bedroom, 5 bathroom set up was perfect and the back porch and upper balcony were nice. The ample living space was perfect for family breakfasts and watching TV together while catching up. The best part is the location! Being a mere two blocks from the beach and a 5 minute walk from a lovely local market made the weekend a relaxing breeze. Additionally, we were a short uber from the walking wine trail, breweries, the courthouse and many restaurants. The area is safe and quiet. Parking was easy and plentiful. Wireless internet was provided. Brianna was responsive. We hope to return again in the future. Thank you for a lovely weekend Brianna!

bathrooms were small but we understood that going in. no shower in one bedroom and no AC (we caught a couple of warm days in Santa Barbara) but it was bearable. Kitchen was well stocked and living areas/front porch was great for gathering.

Brianna was a wonderful host. She was always very quick to respond, which I really appreciated! The house was just as cute as could be, and so so close to the beach! This is a great place for large families who need multiple beds and bathrooms. The common areas like living room and dining room are large as well as the kitchen. It's a great house for cooking family meals.

The house is a classic. My family and I stayed there for my cousin's wedding at the Maritime Museum, and imagine our surprise when we saw a photo of the Old Yacht Club Inn on the walls of the museum! Very cool. We had a plumbing issue in one of the rooms, but I suppose this is to be expected in an older home. Anyway, this was quickly resolved by Brianna. I loved the availability of the bikes!

Our group had a fantastic stay at Brianna's place. The location couldn't be better and the amenities were great. We loved that the place came with bicycles and boogie boards! First time in Santa Barbara and would love to come back. Great city!

Our historic Old Yacht Club Inn property has been a family owned and operated business since 1980. The house was used as an interim clubhouse for the Santa Barbara Yacht Club in the roaring 1920s after the original was destroyed in a storm. The houses operated as a Bed and Breakfast from 1980 to 2014 and now serve as short and long term vacation rentals.

Born and raised in Santa Barbara, I would consider myself a true Santa Barbarian. I love the ocean and being outside in nature. I enjoy yoga, running, cycling, hiking, surfing and most athletic endeavors. So please ask me if you need recommendations for outdoorsy things to do in Santa Barbara. I am also a mom, so I can recommend good kid friendly places in town.
