About this listing
Quiet double room at back of house overlooking garden. TV, tea & coffee making facilities with biscuits in room. Eco-friendly Victorian house with beautiful landscaped garden. Free on street parking. 5 min walk to train station and 20 min walk to town center/seafront (trains Brighton 20-25 mins, London 1 hr 20 mins, Gatwick 40 mins). The South Downs National Park, Chichester, Brighton, Arundel are a short drive away.
The room is at the back of the house and has a double bed, wardrobe, bedside table, chest drawers, desk and chair. You will have your own tea & coffee making facilities and biscuits in the room, as well as a TV. Our house is a beautiful old 3 bedroom Victorian with wooden floors and original features. There is a newly landscaped garden perfect for sipping a glass of wine on the sunny deck. We're very eco conscious so have had external solid wall insulation, double glazing and solar panels installed. This means that although it's old, it isn't cold or drafty! The main shared bathroom is next to room (toilet, basin and separate shower and bath). There is another toilet and basin on the same floor.
We have a friendly three legged cat Angel. She does not have access to the guest room (unless you want her to!) and tends to sleep in the kitchen most of the time.
Use of big kitchen/diner (washing machine and tumble dryer available on request), main bathroom with separate shower and bath, garden with side access so easy to keep a bike, free on street parking. Free fast wif-fi.
Interaction with guests
We'll be happy to help out with recommendations of places to eat or sites to see.
Nice residential neighborhood, but still within easy walking distance to amenities- 5 mins walk to small co-op and 5 mins in other direction a Tesco Express. We even have an Italian deli, Thai restaurant, Turkish restaurant, Real ale house and posh bakery/cafe 2 mins walk from us. 20 minute walk to seafront/center of town.
Excellent transport links. House is 5 mins walk to Worthing mainline station (trains to Brighton 20 mins, London 1 hr 20 mins, Gatwick 40 mins - all direct trains). We have free on street parking but the spaces outside our house are sometimes taken so you may have to park a few meters down the road. Easy access to A27 and towns such as Arundel and Chichester. You can even walk to Cissbury ring from our house in an hour.
Other things to note
Parking is free on street. Sometimes the places right outside our house are full so you may have to park down the street a bit. Unfortunately we don't have parking available on our driveway because we have an electric car which we charge there.
Arrival times may sometimes need to be flexible as we both work. We will try to be be available to suit your timings but it isn't always possible.
As we endeavour to be as eco-conscious as possible, during the winter the heating will generally not be on during the day time Mon-Fri.
We don't provide breakfast as standard but if you're staying just a night or two let us know ahead of time if you'd like breakfast and we are happy to provide a help-yourself continental breakfast e.g. cereal, toast, yogurt and fruit. People staying longer term are welcome to use the kitchen to prepare their own meals.
We're in our 40s, enjoy good food, wine and company, music (one of us plays in a band) and are probably at the Guardian reading end of things. Your age? - Immaterial - we'd just like to share with someone who's fairly clean, considerate but also not uptight - we enjoy life but aren't into the 24/7 extreme partying that we might have done when we were in our 20s (well, maybe only on weekends...).

We love books, music, good food and wine - and beautiful places. Our favourite movie would have to be 'Before Sunset'. Alesia loves cats too (dogs are Ok but cats are more fluffy and independent!). Duncan's particular passion would have to be music and his new Nord keyboard.
