A classic danish 'Patricia Villa' from 1923. Situated 20 mins from the centre of Copenhagen and close to forests, lakes and the Øresund coast. Come and experience Danish hospitality :-)

The space

Our home is a classic danish 'Patricia Villa' from 1923. Situated 20 mins from the centre of Copenhagen and close to forests, lakes and the Øresund coast, it's ideally positioned for a family wanting to explore Copenhagen and the castles of North Zealand.

The ground floor offers a kitchen with all modern conveniences, dining room, lounge and study. There is a sofa bed in the study that can be used as an extra bedroom if needed. The dining room and lounge open up to a 35 m2 terrace that looks out over the 1400m2 garden. The perfect place to sip a glass of wine in the summer whilst watching the kids play in the tree house.

Upstairs is a master bedroom with king size bed, a child's bedroom with bunk beds, a dressing room and the home's second bathroom.

The newly renovated basement contains the master bedroom with double bed, bathroom, and utility room with full laundry facilities.

Holte town centre is a 10 minute walk and here you will find several supermarkets as well as traditional local shops (delicious baker, cheese shop, fishmonger and wine expert). There are several excellent take aways and cafes. Copenhagen's 'backbone' the S-tog (train) runs from Holte station to Copenhagen every 5-10 minutes.

This part of the greater Copenhagen really is ideal - close enough to be part of the city but also surrounded by nature. We're right next to Rude Skov (Rude Forest, yes it really is called that!) where there are mountain biking trails, horse riding paths and a 2.5km running trail. Come and explore! :-)

We really enjoyed our stay at Stephanie's lovely home! We felt very welcome, the neighbourhood and place itself are family friendly and nice - especially the big beautiful garden is an absolute winner :)

Thanks again for a great stay! We loved walking/running to nearby Rude Skov and the cute lake across the street, your lovely house and big backyard, and the close proximity to Copenhagen. The local train station, bakery and grocery store is less than five minutes away by car.

Our stay was really fantastic. Everything in the house was as you could see at the photos. It is a very nice house in a wonderful location very well comunicated with Copenhaguen by train. It is very near to a forest with lakes where you can run or ride bike. Stephanie and Mads were very kind with us and they help us with everything we need during our stay. Even they got for us a stroller during all our stay because of the air company lost our. Highly recommended this fantastic house. Definetly we felt as in our own home.

We were two couples exploring Copenhagen. Stephanie's house was quite the perfect location. She was very helpful with suggestions before and during outreach trip. The house was very comfortable.

Communication with Stephanie was great and really responsive. As we were arriving late, she had made available snacks and wine for when we arrived and items for breakfast, which was incredibly thoughtful. The house was great - spacious and nicely decorated. A wonderful space inside, with lots of outdoor seating and great garden. We all really loved the house, felt at home and were sad to leave. The forest was a short walk away and a lake a minute walk across the road and wonderful for swimming in before breakfast or in the evening. Stephanie's neighbours were also very friendly, gave us advice and invited my wife to their running group! We used public transport for our stay and the trains from Holte centre were regular with easy access to Copenhagen. Trips further afield took a little longer, but we enjoyed the train journeys. The train and bus station is about 15 minute walk from the house, for those less keen on walking there is a bus at the end of the road which arrives 20 minutes or so, but less frequently at the weekend. Further afield from Copenhagen we'd recommend the Viking ship museum at Rosklide and Kronborg Castle (particularly during Hamlet Live), and for the children Tivoli, but there were also other great places to visit and we have a whole host of memories (and photos to bore our family and friends with!). We'd highly recommend the house and I'm sure future guests will have an enjoyable stay.

I'm a Brit, married to a Dane and have made Copenhagen my home for the last 13 years. My family and I love to welcome people to this 'happiest land in the world' and to see it afresh through their eyes :-)
As a family we love authenticity when we travel - to really experience local environments, food, culture and especially to make new friends.
Sharing homes is such a great concept and makes travelling all the more fun and affordable. We love the new perspectives and fresh ideas we get from sharing ours and other people's homes.
