Description

The space

Large room in a late Victorian home, located in a beautiful London garden square, lined with historic houses. Room is on the 2nd (US=3rd) floor looking out to the front. Comfortable double bed, chest of drawers, antique desk and chair, clothes rail and hangers; mirror; bath and shower toiletries; hairdryer (iron is available). Use of kitchen, clothes washing by arrangement. Shower also available in the family bathroom.

Guest access

You are welcome to use the garden, and the kitchen facilities (please speak to us first). We have two bathrooms. Your private bathroom has a bath (the other has a shower - which you are welcome to use). You may use the washing machine by arrangement.

Interaction with guests

We look forward to chatting with you and helping you make the most of your stay in London.

The neighbourhood

Centrally situated in south London, with excellent and easy transport links to all the major tourist attractions such as the London Eye, South Bank, South Kensington museum, Covent Garden, Buckingham Palace, Oxford Street, Westminster. Cheap Portuguese restaurants and cafes and some classic pub food within 5-10 minutes walking distance. Brixton has plenty of night life and music venues. Local guide available.

Getting around

7-minute walk to Stockwell tube, which is on both the Victoria and Northern Lines. It's only a short ride to Oxford Street. Buses to Westminster, Oxford Circus, Waterloo and the City (Liverpool Street). We are close to mainline train stations Victoria and Waterloo, and local overground trains. We can store up to 2 bicycles. Car parking permits are available at cost (£5 per day). Convenient location but be aware that this is not a 'posh' area - which is reflected in the price!

Other things to note

Breakfast: please help yourself in our kitchen but let us know your preference in advance. Choices are: toast, muesli or yoghurt and fruit. You may prefer one of the Portuguese delis (excellent pastel de nata).
You may use our fridge.
We have a cat - Jinx - who may or may not ignore you.
From time to time, one of our daughters will be home from university.
We are relaxed and informal and our house has a bohemian feel to it.

Naomi welcomed us with a cup of tea, showed us the rooms and answered everything we needed to know. Not to mention the collection of guides, tips and places she has collected for guests to go. The rooms were warm and homey, just as the place, street and neighbourhood. Can't recommend it enough!

We enjoyed to come 'home' in the evening after beeing discovering London in our large room in the 2nd floor. Bathroom on the same floor, as we prefer showering we could use N&T bath and also the kitchen to make some breakfast. N&T are an interesting and wide interested couple! We loved to stay in their house and would recommend it.

My stay in Naomi's room was perfect! Not only the room was large, comfortable, bright, quiet and cosy, but I felt at home immediately! The house is very friendly, full of light and books, and Naomi and Tim are lovely. Naomi was easy to communicate with and really sweet. She welcomed me with a nice cup of tea and the room had lots of flyers and maps to help you find your way in London! Pictures and description are accurate, the room is close to good public transportation and shops. Whether you stay a night, a week or a month, I would definitely recommend you staying with Naomi and Tim!

My second stay with Naomi and Tim within 6 months. Loved the discussions about English history, Brexit, London, Politics, Human rights, World Trade, Pub Culture, the Queen... I could list many more topics. Amazing hosts in a warm and friendly place. Looking forward to meet them again!

So lovely meeting Naomi and Tim. They are gracious hosts and are willing to help or assist with what their guests need. Everything was clean, the bed was very comfortable and it is nice and quiet at night which is great for getting fully rested for a day of exploration. The place is also situated a few blocks away from the Stockwell tube which was very convenient. Thank you Naomi and Tim!

Naomi and Tim hosted my parents for several nights. They went over and above what was necessary, helping them book an airport taxi, print out boarding passes and telling them the best way to get around London. They were kind and friendly and the room was as it appears in pictures.

Naomi are gracious hosts and provide a comfortable and a lovely stay in their book-filled home. They were quiet and unobtrusive but were also happy to let the guests to cook in their kitchen. The bedroom is set apart on its own little landing so nicely private but close to the bathroom, both neat and clean. Naomi is very careful about the guests's need. And i have to mention that Naomi is a great writer we had a talk about her working for her book, and i write a article for her book on my blog. So, hope everything is going very well with you next book. Echo
