About this listing
Just 8 minutes away from Berlin's Main Central station, this 20m, antique-furnished bedroom with dark-wood flooring is part of 67m apartment with a modern bathroom, kitchen, French windows, books galore and very friendly local as a flatmate/host.
The main double bed has to be seen to believed. Like something out of Transylvania, the double bed was hand crafted in 1891 and must be one of the most comfortable known to man. The second single couch is long enough to comfortably sleep a man of slightly over six foot. Parquet flooring and antique furnishings finish off the cozy and warm feeling.
The apartment is on the 3rd floor of an altbau apartment block, meaning you have high ceilings and windows in the main bedroom alongside a spacious modern kitchen. Wifi access is included in the fee.
Interaction with guests
Your flatmate is a real gentleman. Friendly, and very easily amused, he will be there to field any questions you may have.
Other things to note
The restaurants in the area are the reason I moved in and never left. Some of Berlin's best Vietnamese, Lebanese, Egyptian and Indian are between 2 and 10 minutes walk from the door. The rewe supermarket is 3 minutes by foot across the road from the TXL bus stop.
Feel free to read from the extensive book collection but please don't steal them, as they are heirlooms. Naturally, treat the room with respect. Other than that, feel at home. No pets, but if you need to smoke, you can do so on the balcony.

I have lived in this part of Berlin for over 8 years and still love its mix of cultures and 'real' Berlin feeling. I talk to the guy who runs the corner store, the people at the restaurants know me by sight, and I am a regular at the local library which doubles as a restaurant during the week at lunch time.
