We loved our stay at Raicho! Yuma was a great host - kind, responsive, adaptable. The bedroom is comfortable and spacious. The common spaces were comfortable and clean. There seems to be a lot of opportunity for adventure in the area - skiing/snowboarding/snowshoeing in the winter, hiking/climbing/biking in the summer. Definitely recommended for any outdoor enthusiasts.

Yuma san and family is a great host who went extra miles picking us up from the station. We arrived on Xmas day and had the privileged to be invited for a warm Xmas dinner with his family and staff. Highlight of the trip was the star gazing tour offered by Yuma out of courtesy. Amazing! It was indeed a terrific experience. His place is perfect for hiking and skiing/snow boarding. Public outdoor onsen under the snow was perfect! Would definitely be back for more.

We loved staying at Guesthouse Raicho run by Yuma and his sister. The guesthouse is warm and welcoming with great communal areas. Our room was large - we changed from a two room western style room to a Japanese room as it was so appealing with the windows, screens and tatami mats. Both the inside onsen and private outside onsen were great - we loved sitting in the hot mineral springs outside in the forest. In fact the forest walking in this area was amazing, and we sadly ran out of time to climb the mountain. Restaurants in the area were a bit thin on the ground - as Yuma advises, bring your own food if you'd like to self-cater in the spotless and organised kitchen. Very helpful to have breakfast available, even if combining ingredients was a tentative experiment. Yuma is very friendly and helpful, and we greatly appreciated being driven to our bus station when we left - over and above the call of duty. Highly recommended.

Yuma is a fantastic host! The place is pretty isolated and buses are very expensive to and from this location, but the lodging itself is very welcoming and homey. Yuma very generously drove us to bus stops and restaurants regularly. A few other notes: - Reservable private onsen - Public dining area - English friendly

This was a perfect place with a perfect host!! He picked me up at the busstation, and twicw gave me a ride to it. Also he helped with planning! Such nice people! Clean rooms the onsen is not crowded. In most times I wanted to use it, it was empty. The ouside onses needed to be reserved, very nice that you can use that privately. This was a very nice stay!

Wonderful, no frills, low key, relaxed, organized, clean and super friendly little guesthouse. So amazing to soak in the outdoor onsen after the 6 hour hike to my. Norikura. Yuma was so helpful and clear in suggesting routes for a hiking trip in the Kamikochi area and explaining transportation to the guesthouse from Tokyo. Wouldn't hesitate to stay here again!

The Guesthouse is a very nice place complete with everything to make the guests feel at home, including the Onsen. And Yuma was very accommodating especially when we have to move dates because of unforeseen delays. He even helped us book transpo going to Kyoto. Truly recommended to enjoy a worthwhile experience.

Yuma User ProfileYuma is a superhost.

My name is Yuma Fujie.
I run the Japanese-style Guesthouse with hot spring ("Onsen").
I love nature very much and I'm one of the official nature guide of Japan Mountain Guides Association.
The reason I run the guesthouse in Norikura highland is because I hope to connect people to great nature. Norikura Highland, located in Matsumoto City, Nagano Prefecture, is very beautiful with lots of wonderful places where you can enjoy various outdoor activities such as hiking, mountain bike, fishing, winter sports, back-country skiing, cycling etc.
During your stay in the Norikura Highland, you can also enjoy sightseeing to Kamikouchi, Japan Northern Alps and Hida Takayama as these famous touring spots are close by.
I'd like to support your travel, so aside from providing you with a place to sleep and relax, let me hear your needs and the things you want to do, so that I can propose places and activities and the means of transportation just for you.
I recommend you to stay in Norikura Highland for a few days or weeks to enjoy the place and to relax in the Onsen.
I look forward to seeing you in my guesthouse!!
