The space

This is a large, fully-furnished private bedroom with twin beds, a large dresser, desk, double closet and window air conditioner. The house is a no-smoking, allergy controlled environment.

Guest access

You'll get your own key to the house for the duration of the stay. You have free access to the rest of the house (which includes the kitchen and sun porch), safe on-street or off-street parking, free laundry in basement. The back yard has a barbeque and child's unused swing set available.

Interaction with guests

I often work in my home office during the day and am here to sleep at night. I'm happy to socialize or not - depending on guest preferences. I work in my room mornings until at least 10 AM, so guests have free reign of the bathroom and kitchen for a do-it-yourself breakfast. You'll have phone numbers for upstairs tenants and neighbors who will be available if I'm not.

Other things to note

The house is across the street from a huge park with ball fields, basketball courts, tennis courts, picnic tables. It's just a mile east of the Mississippi, across from downtown Minneapolis. Big box stores (Target, Home Depot, etc.) are five minutes away. The buses that stop at the corner make connections to almost anywhere you wish to go in the Twin Cities. Excellent location with numerous restaurants within walking distance. Carol provided an experience that allowed us to share her home, yet feel a good deal of independence by allowing us to organise our own breakfast from all that she provided and have free rain of the bathroom facilities in the morning to make a quick getaway to enjoy all that she advised us to see in her city!!

My husband and I came to Minneapolis to attend a wedding three blocks from Carol's home. Carol's home is well located for exploring the NE of Minneapolis either by foot, car or bus. It was a plus having easy parking, access to a big park just across the street, and living in a quiet neighborhood. Carol provided many tips for eating or shopping within 4-7 blocks from her home, and was easy to talk with. She has many projects around her home from knitting socks to working on her dolls and working on her computer. She has many books and interesting objects to look at. We would return here again.

Carol is a wonderful woman! She made us hot cocoa and gave us a late night snack after we got in. Her home was comfortable, clean, and quiet, and she was very helpful and kind! I would definitely stay again!

Carol was super friendly and offered lots of info about the neighborhood and things to do. She even had soup ready for us when we arrived!

Friendly old lady :-) who loves company. Absolutely adore meeting so many interesting people, each with a fascinating story whatever it is. I do Internet marketing and build websites, among other things, in my office/bedroom, and have lots of crafts in the basement. When there are no guests here I sometimes use the guest room for sewing projects, but move them to the dining room when y'all arrive. I'm near lots of things you can walk to or bike to (Minneapolis has "nice ride" bikes in the park across the street), and the city bus to most places stops at the corner. Want to know more? When you book, Airbnb will give you my phone number and email. Just ask!
