About this listing
Nestled in the traditional sleepy hamlet of la Thuile, Chalet Marron is located within a few minutes of Ste Foy Tarentaise ski station via shuttle bus, and less than 20 mins by car to access Val d'Isere, Tignes, Les Arcs and La Rosiere.
Chalet Marron is a comfortable and well laid out chalet with lots of space for your group, which is rare to find in self catered properties. It ideally suits 8 - 10 adults with space to add a few extra kids. We do not recommend you take the house for more than 8-10 adults.
Sleeping areas are as follows and can be adapted to suit your specific needs.
Room 1 on the entrance level has a 160cm bed and can take a cot or small bed , balcony with views of mountains . It has a walk in shower and basin , and plenty of storage in the walk in dressing room. The WC is located next to the bedroom in hall . It has a Tv with English channels and a DVD player .
Room 2 is also on the entrance level and has 2 x 90cm beds, which can be configured into a 180cm king sized bed. It also has a built in handmade oak bunk which is suitable for child or small adult. Even using 3 beds there is still plenty of space for a cot or child bed. Plenty of storage, balcony with limited views. The bathroom is located next to the bedroom and has full sized bath, walk in shower, wc and basin.
Room 3 is located on level -1 and has a 160cm bed. There is also a sofa bed with 2 x 90cm mattresses. With the second 90cm bed pulled out there is limited floor space. It has plenty of storage and a small bathroom with a shower over the small bath, a WC and basin. Plenty of storage and its own door accessing the garden via a balcony.
Room 4 is the mezzanine area, galleried above the lounge. It has 2 snug areas under the eaves one with a 160cm bed on the floor, and one with 2 x 90 beds on the floor. Both areas are curtained off. There is also a lit gigogne which can make 160cm bed that can positioned in the centre of the mezzanine offering more head height but less privacy if the lounge is in use. It has a small shower room with shower, basin and wc. This means you can in theory put all the kids up together.
Fully equipped built in kitchen with modern appliances and plenty of fridge, freezer and storage space. It also has a spacious granite breakfast bar which seats 6/8. The lounge dining area is 80m2 with 5m beamed ceilings. It has balconies to the south and west with views of the mountains and valley. In this large communal space is a dining table for 10, comfortable seating for 10/12 people, a small office space and a fire.
You will also find a lockable porch for equipment , plenty of boot storage under the stairs as well as a gated garden for kids .
Please do note that the chalet is located off the main road and off the village road and access is via a steep 20m long path. Whilst the path is in the most part sheltered via the roof, it sometimes gets snow on it and whilst we will try to assist in keeping it clear for you, there may be sometimes when snow has fallen overnight that you might need to clear it. We have lived in the chalet for many years and transported many babies and grandparents up and down with no incident. We would not recommend you tackle it in skiboots.
The chalet is fully equipped with oven, microwave, induction hob and dishwasher along with a full compliment of kitchen and catering equipment, a list of which we which we can send you in advance.
