The Waddle is a traditional Shetland croft house, refurbished to offer a homely and comfortable stay for guests. Situated in a peaceful, quiet, remote location just over a mile from the nearby village of Walls, tucked in under the hill overlooking a sea-loch, it's a perfect place to enjoy Shetlands wildlife, scenery, peace and freedom.

The Waddle is situated on an active croft. We have approximately 120 sheep with lambing in the spring, silage baling in the summer and feeding in the winter.

Where you’ll be

Walls, United Kingdom

Walls is a small, remote, friendly village on the Westside of mainland Shetland. It's quiet and peaceful with stunning sea views, coastal walks and plenty of wildlife. There is a shop, post office, GP surgery, bakery, primary school, bus stop, private swimming-pool, public hall, camping bod (with public garden), play park and church located around the centre of the village.

The Waddle is approx. 1.5 miles from the village, along a single-track road heading towards Burrastow.

There is plenty to do in Shetland with a large number of archaeological sites, beaches, museums, leisure centres, music events & festivals and craft & knitwear events.

There are plenty of good places to eat in Shetland and we are famous for our 'Sunday Teas'. We are lucky to have fresh seafood and quality lamb on our doorstep.

We've listed some of our favourite attractions, shops, restaurants, etc in our Guidebook - take a look.

Hey, I'm Fiona. I have lived in Shetland all my life, and love it. I'm a mam, work for the NHS in the local Health Centre and I run Waddle Self Catering. I also do some lino-printing and sell prints online and locally. I live with my partner Kevin and our 2 peerie lasses Chloe & Maisy on a small croft, and have approximately 100 sheep.

We enjoyed refurbishing the Waddle and are very proud of how it turned out. We are looking forward to sharing it with our guests.
