Beautiful area

Guests love this home’s scenic location.
Enjoy a relaxing stay at this beautiful location with a wonderful view. Yr Islawr is a spacious, well equipped, self contained annexe nestled underneath our home Tynycefn Barn.

Sit back and enjoy the view or get out and explore the local area.

Fast Starlink WiFi system in the living room

The space
First things first:
An excellent base to explore, however, your own transport is essential and breakdown cover is advised-there is no public transport and taxis are hard to come by. Parking is available by the house.
We have starlink satellite internet but no mobile signal so you will have to enable wifi calling on your phone.
This makes Yr Islawr an excellent place to work.
Because we are so remote and there are steps major health and mobility issues would be a problem.

• One bedroom
• One en-suite bathroom with a shower
• Fully equipped kitchen
• Adjustable electric heating
• Electric oven, induction hob, fridge with freezer, microwave , kettle and toaster
• Washer/dryer
• Smart TV
• Bed linen and towels

With its own separate entrance, the apartment has a fully equipped new kitchen, with an electric oven and hob, a fridge freezer, a washer dryer, kettle, toaster and microwave.
The spacious living room has a comfortable corner sofa, a Smart TV and a daybed which can be used if you do not want to share the bedroom.
The cosy basement bedroom has thick stone walls which stay warm in the winter and cool in the summer. An en-suite shower room leads off the bedroom.
We can make up a king size bed or two singles and/or a sofa bed in the living room.
Clean towels, bedding and toiletries will be supplied. Also an iron and ironing board and a hairdryer.
Outside is a patio area where you can sit and look at the view or even dine on a sunny day. Barbecue fuel seat covers and an umbrella are in the plastic box on the patio.
Because we are so remote there is no mobile signal unless you want to take a walk up the hill or a drive across the valley. We do have wifi though so wifi calling is available.
We will provide a welcome pack with tea, coffee, bread, butter and eggs and snacks etc. but strongly advise you to shop on the way as the nearest supermarket is 6 miles away in Knighton.
Online deliveries are available from Tesco, Asda, Sainsburys and Morrisons.
Self check in is available via a key safe but we live upstairs and will probably be there to answer any questions and show you how things work if you need help. I will give you my mobile number so you can contact me.
There is no public transport or taxis so you will either be arriving in a vehicle or on your own two feet. Parking is available by the house.
Unfortunately we cannot welcome pets and the stone steps and floors and general layout of the property and the terraces outside mean the property is unsuitable for mobile babies and young children and those with major health and mobility problems.
We will provide directions on booking and there will be signposting – sat nav works but be aware there is no mobile signal for miles in the bottom of the valley and the postcode takes you too far down the lane – so take notice of the directions
We welcome walkers, we are near the Glyndwrs Way trail and the Offa's Dyke , there is a tap outside for muddy boots and a washer dryer in the kitchen.

Guest access
Yr Islawr is for your exclusive use as is the patio. We live above you in Tynycefn Barn so you will be sharing the rest of the outside space and parking area with us

Other things to note
There is no mobile signal so take notice of the directions and no shops so shop on your way here or get an online delivery. It also very advisable to pre-book meals at the local pubs
