Nice and quiet, and pretty much compete with the amentities that you need to live comfortably. The people at the nearby shops were very genuine and helpful that I enjoyed just hanging around. Though Robert was away at the time I stayed at this apartment, he was very helpful and comprehensive in the information I needed. He left me in Layenee's great hands, and I was well taken care of. Was received and sent off so warmly. Many thanks, Robert and Laynee!

Great getaway from KK. Nice place to relax, cook your own meals and enjoy a beach to yourself. The sunsets here are quite spectacular. Whilst this place is obviously far away from a major city, there are lots of little shops for groceries/laundry/bits & bobs close by (including a 7-eleven). If you like being self-sufficient - you will like this place! A special thank you goes to Robert for his recommendations on the local area as well as Sabah. He helped arrange us a guide/homestay for the Kinabatangan river...which lead into several fantastic experiences.

Inconvenient position No bus no taxi You have to Papar about 30minutes and then take 1hour to KK

Response from Robert:
Sadly, this guest did not bother to read the description, which states clearly that, unless guests wish to use public transport (which many do), one needs to rent a car or a motorbike, as the apartment is around 20 mins from the airport, & 30 mins from the city. She is completely wrong in saying there are no buses or taxis! Buses and minibuses run regularly on this route, both to KK and to Papar. Metered taxis are easily available, but more to the point, Uber is also available to those who take our advice and put the app on their phones!

We had such an amazing stay in Roberts apartment. Even though it is quite far from KK City, we were happy to be a bit outside. There is a wonderful beach, which you'll probably have for your own, shops in walking distance, a very fast laundry place, swimming pool, playground, a Roti place … everything you need for a relaxing stay in Sabah! Robert was so helpful and friendly, available for all kind of questions, we appreciated your advices very much. The apartment was clean, very comfortable, modern. We would always come back to your place, thank you for everything! Elvira and Hussein

Thanks Robert and Paula! We rented this place for a month and had a very nice and relaxing stay at your apartment in Melinsung. Plus: Very nice, moderna and clean apartment. The kitchen was well equiped and you could cook or bake most things you wanted. The hosts Robert and Paula is very friendly and helpful. The beach (10 minutes walking) is fantastic, you will have a long wild beach all to yourself during the day. The local restaurant, fruit stands and mini supermarkets (5 minutes walking) are open from early to late and have most things needed. A good place to relax if you need to get away for a while :) Minus: The area itself have seen it's best days and we felt the price of the apartment was a little bit high for the area. The place is mainly made for cars. We tried hitchhiking, Uber and using the local bus getting to Kota Kinabalu, but renting a car was more convinient. We also had some troubles with the pools sometimes being closed when supposed to be open. However we never disliked going to the beach instead :)

Robert and Paula are very nice and attentive hosts. They even guided us from Kota Kinabalu to the apartment, which is a bit off (but this is clearly mentioned in the description). So, renting a car is more or less a must. It's fairly easy to make friends with the locals in the community. Try the "FS Cafe". Don't expect a top-notch and super-well maintained 5 star holiday resort. The beach itself is nice and you can have a long stretch of sand for yourself. Inside the apartment, everything is fine and as shown in the pictures. Except for the bathroom, inside the apartment there are no doors separating the rooms. All in all, we enjoyed our 3 night stay at Robert and Paula's place.

The place was nice and it was what the pictures were showing. It was a bit far from the city itself so going there would be a hard time. Miranda, Robert's friend was really nice and she helped me a lot during my stay in KK. Overall the place was nice.
