This listing is for the suite only and is separate from the rest of the apartment (so no kitchen/living room access). We do welcome extended stay guests, though, and can work out access to these areas for guests staying longer than one week.
Interaction with guests
Jenny and/or John like to check guests in and answer questions, but otherwise we will leave you to enjoy your stay. We both work full-time, so we do routinely set up a self check-in when we are not available at your preferred arrival time (we set this up with you 1-2 days in advance). In either case, we are available by phone or airbnb message to answer any questions you might have (Jenny lives in the adjoining apartment, and is often available in person as well).
Other things to note
The suite is located above a restaurant in a vibrant part of town, and moderate noise can be expected. We provide earplugs and a white noise machine, but the suite is not suitable for light sleepers.
We love hosting travelers for an affordable stay in an exciting and convenient part of town. If this is your first airbnb experience, know that you will have a comfortable and tidy space. After each guest, we personally clean the room to a state that we take pride in, but we do not pretend to be professional hotel operators or cleaners:)

We like to travel, cook, and ride bikes around downtown. Jenny lives in the apartment, John owns it, and we share hosting responsibilities.
Jenny works in urban planning and has traveled in 25+ countries. With innkeeper parents, Jenny grew up in a bed & breakfast and has been hosting airbnb guests in Chattanooga for three years. Jenny studied anthropology at Lee University before getting a masters in public administration at the University of Tennessee at Chattanooga.
John started and recently sold the artisan bakery downstairs (Niedlov's Breadworks), has two children, and also enjoys caring for his flock of chickens at his small farm outside of town. Prior to starting the bakery, John studied business at Covenant College and attended the American Institute of Baking.
