The Mimosa Suite has 12 foot ceilings, a 19th century Louisiana antique armoire, and sleigh bed. The bathroom is enormous, with an oversized antique clawfoot tub (handheld seated shower head only!) Our art-filled house is ideally located between the French Quarter and City Park. Sip coffee or Sazeracs on the balcony, spend your afternoons in the saltwater pool surrounded by fig, banana and orange trees. On a bike path, with bikes at no extra charge. Welcome to our circa 1890 mansion!

The space

Stay in one of the grand historic mansions that line Esplanade Avenue; in our opinion, one of the most beautiful streets in the city, with huge live oaks shading the street. Your suite includes a large private bedroom and enormous, gorgeous bathroom with a porthole window, as well as shared access to the large upstairs balcony overlooking the avenue and our trees. Wonderful for your morning coffee or sunset cocktail on the chaise. We also have a beautiful secluded saltwater swimming pool for those hot days.

There is a mini fridge to cool your drinks and doggie bags, and a coffeemaker provided.

Our home is full of bohemian decor and fine art for your enjoyment.

Guest access

You enter the home on the ground floor and proceed upstairs to your suite. We live on the first floor, and we have a friend who lives upstairs who may check you in and orient you to the house. We also have an employee or two who occasionally work from the upstairs office on weekdays.

The bedroom is private to you. The pool, balcony and front porch are shared with us and our tenants. On weekdays during work hours, our employee may share the bathroom.

Interaction with guests

We live on site, and you are always welcome to contact us, or our house manager (upstairs tenant) with any needs or questions. You may also come and go without seeing us at all, depending on your schedule!

Other things to note

We have two friendly dogs on the first floor and the house manager has a third who lives upstairs, all medium-size and very loving. You may not see them at all, or you may see them in the yard or foyer.

Our bathroom features one of the biggest antique tubs you may ever bathe in! However, while it has an attached shower head which can be used while sitting, it **does not have a standing shower.**

We loved our stay! We felt very safe and liked the quiet neighborhood but easy access where we wanted to go. There are coffee shops and restaurants near by so we could fuel up before heading out for the day. Bob and Jeanne are fascinating people and it's worth your time to get some insights and recommendations from them!

Wow- what an amazing place. Both Jeanne and Robert (Tannen) were fantastic to interact with, helpful and thoughtful throughout our stay. Their home is comfortable, over the top beautiful and highly recommended. From the tub to the pool, the collection of art and the balcony- there are many highlights. Plus a friendly dog who loves belly rubs. 10 stars!

Jeanne's place was amazing. A local gem in the city. The inside of her house was almost like a museum with so many photos, paintings and artwork around. Overall a great experience.

My sister and I stayed here for a weekend and it was an amazing spot to explore the city. I love old historic houses and this house had so much character, inside and out. The porch was great for hanging out on, and with the bikes we were able to bike up and down Esplanade, a beautiful street with a lot a character. I felt like I got to live like a local while I was here, and I will definitely be back. Great breakfast place that you can walk to in the morning, and great restaurants in the area. Check-in and check-out was very easy, and both Jeanne and Bob were warm and welcoming.

My stay with Jeanne and Tannen was wonderful! The character and charm of the mansion coupled with the accommodations were uniquely New Orleans. Wonderful location and a fabulous pool. The dogs were so sweet and really enhanced the experience.
