Beautiful and spacious home with incredible views of the mountains and treetops. About an hour from shopping in Asheville, two ski resorts, Boone, a natural hot spring, Banner Elk, and more! Relaxation at its best nestled in the mountains of NC.
The home is a two story, 3,400 square feet log cabin with a tin roof situated on 7 acres of rolling hills with a rocky creek running alongside. You will be greeted by nearly 1,100 square foot of wrap-around covered porch, and a small open deck space, with five gated step entrances leading into the large yard. Rocking chairs and two porch swings make the perfect touch for enjoying coffee in the morning and taking in the sunrise over the mountains, or a glass of wine in the evenings watching the sun disappear. On clear nights, you will have a breathtaking view of the starry sky, and the only sound you will hear is the creek rushing over the rocks!
The first level offers an open floor plan featuring a spacious kitchen, dining room, and a sitting area with a couch, two recliners, and a gas log fireplace. The kitchen is fully outfitted with all major appliances as well as some extras – dishwasher, stove, oven, microwave, coffee maker, blender, slow cooker, electric griddle, toaster, steamer, KitcheAid stand mixer with attachments, and a waffle maker. Pots, pans, dinnerware, glassware, cooking utensils, and flatware are also provided. The dining table comfortably seats 4, and there are 4 additional seats at the kitchen counter breakfast area. There are two bedrooms on this level, including the master with private full bath with shower. The second bedroom has a full bath with a claw-foot bathtub and can be accessed from the bedroom or kitchen. A small room off of the kitchen provides a high-efficiency, front-loading washer and dryer and extra storage space. Up the stairs to the second level is a loft with comfortable couch for lounging and two reclining chairs. On either end of the loft are the other two bedrooms, both with private full baths. All of the beds are queens. Linens are provided. Every bedroom has a TV with either VHS and / or DVD.
Guests will have access to the entire house and its seven acres.
Interaction with guests
I will be available by phone, text, or e-mail for questions, concerns, and issues. I will be happy to provide more information about the house, towns, things to do, anything you need!
Other things to note
Landline telephone is available for incoming or outgoing calls. Internet is available, but the service may be slow or intermittent depending on the weather. Cell phone service inside the house is generally unreliable or unavailable. A signal on the porch or in the yard is possible, or further up or down the mountain. The driveway is on a hill, and while four-wheel drive is not necessarily required, it may be helpful during the winter months in case of precipitation; the town maintains the public roads via salting and plowing. I recommend leaving the car at the bottom of the driveway if there is snow or ice on the ground, particularly if your vehicle does not have four-wheel drive. The porch area is contained as long as the gates are closed, but the yard is not fenced.
No smoking inside the house. If you smoke anywhere on the premises, be sure that all flames are extinguished and remnants disposed of properly (i.e. not in the yard, creek, or house). Well-behaved pets are allowed; any damages will be deducted from the security deposit. Guests under 21 must have a parent or guardian present. Please care for the house as if it were your own by cleaning up after yourself and do not mistreat any of the furnishings or appliances. Otherwise...have fun, relax, and enjoy!
