My husband, 6 month old baby and I have just had a great 3 night stay in Caroline's York Cottage and would thoroughly recommend it. Caroline was very quick to reply, met us at the property to show us around, had kitted out the kitchen with some basics like milk and tea and was very friendly. The cottage is decorated to a very high standard and is very well equipped, it also has a lovely little garden which provided some shade for our little lady to play in and a nice spot for us to have an evening drink. The cottage is very close to the sea front where there is a prominade which you can walk along to get to some nice pubs, a small family friendly lido and some local castles, it's also a great location for seeing Dover castle.

We were made to feel at home from the moment we arrived. Communication levels were absolutely spot on for us from the point of booking to stay until the time we came to leave the property. Nothing has been forgotten either; Caroline and Sam even put in such thoughtful special touches (games, books, films, bread, milk, condiments etc). The flat is stunning, beautiful decor, light and airy but so cosy. The property is seconds away from the waterfront and only a very short stroll to Deal pier. Also very close to a lovely pub called The Lighthouse, which we always visit during our trips to Kent for great beers and a very friendly atmosphere. We will be recommending this property to friends and family.

A beautiful base for exploring the Kent coast. The house was well equipped with everything you could think of for a relaxing, comfortable stay. It really felt like home from home. Communication with Caroline was excellent. I highly recommend it!

The garden house is actually a basement that has been transformed into a 2-bedroom apartment. It all looks very inviting and has a very cosy feel to it. Perfect for a couple with one kid, or in our case, with an older kid and a baby. The beds are very comfy and there are plenty of extra blankets in case you need them. The kitchen has all the basic amenities, so it really is the perfect place to stay for a few days and do your own cooking. The kitchen gives out onto a lovely backyard, which is also what visitors use to get in and out of the house. The only thing I wasn't prepared for was the bad sound insulation between the apartment and the house upstairs (we usually have floors that are fairly well insulated from each other in Belgium), so you do hear the walking and noises from the tv upstairs. Overall, we really enjoyed our stay, and I would definitely recommend Caroline's place (unless you know the noise is going to bother you)! Thank you for having us over! Joke, Will, Yann and Charlie

A relaxing seaside location. The Garden Flat was cosy, clean and well furnished. We loved visiting Deal and the surrounding Kentish towns. Caroline was a five star host - friendly, easy to reach and had great tips for the area. Would definitely stay again!

My boyfriend and I stayed at Caroline's for two nights and on our way back we were already fantasising about staying there again. This is a sort of place you want to keep a secret so that you can return there any time you want without having to worry about it being booked. Tastefully decorated and cosy, very well equipped with absolutely everything, the flat made you feel it’s there just for you. We kept discovering little details such as toiletries, chilled water in the fridge, grocery supplies, flowers, a typed out manual with all the information you could possible need/want during your stay and other things that make the experience of staying somewhere so much more special. It is one min walk from the beach and a 10-15 min stroll from the town centre - you don’t even need a car. Caroline was a delight to make arrangement with. Helpful and quick to reply, she went out of her way to look after us. She was always available to answer questions, extremely friendly and caring. She is someone who puts her heart in to this business, and it shows in big and small things alike. Her husband happened to be around when we were leaving and he gave us a lift to the station. So kind! We were touched and very grateful. Wonderful, kind people, who love looking after their home and those who visit it. I can’t recommend their place highly enough!! Thank you so much, Caroline and Sam.

After spending all of my working career in central London and living in the suburbs, I now live in this wonderful seaside town with my husband Sam. We would love to share the many secrets of this little known town and invite you to stay with us to explore the history, heritage and charm of South East Kent. We can proudly boast of the only pier in Kent, two castles, wonderful walks, incredible golf courses, a rich maritime and fishing history and a high street full of vintage and independent shops, restaurants and cafes. Fishing trips and cycle rides are available on our doorstep and a little further afield are the medieval cinque port of Sandwich, the thrills and spills of the newly reopened Dreamland at Margate, the shopping and splendour of Canterbury and the cross channel ferry port of Dover.
