About this listing
My Flat is a lovely 2 bed place in the heart of Manchesters' vibrant Northern quarter. There is a bath and shower and fitted kitchen for guests to use. The room (in a penthouse) is warm, clean and has lots of storage. Beyond the doorstep is everything Manchester has to offer within walking distance.
There's lots of storage in the guest room so you'll be sure to fit everything in. Please feel free to use all the amenities in the apartment during your stay (apart from the telephone landline). I have wi-fi and a TV if you want to relax in the evening and watch films. There is a big balcony should you wish to dine outside or take in some fresh air.
I like to have a little oasis of calm in the middle of the city so hope you'll find it a relaxing stay. The apartment itself is extremely central to the city centre yet is in a secluded spot so its incredibly quiet even during weekends.
Guests are welcome to all areas of the flat, the exception being my room of course! I have a wrap around balcony which is a bit of a sun trap in the summer and is perfect to relax on or dine al fresco! The kitchen is available and is fairly well stocked with utensils etc.
Interaction with guests
I will be around throughout your stay and happy to interact with guests over a cup of tea should you wish to. I have an extensive collection of teas and have to admit I may have a slight problem! I have enjoyed cooking for guests and learnt a few culinary gems I've used since.
Guests will never have to share with with other guests they don't know (as I think it's discourteous, not really what Airbnb was set up for and I enjoy hosting for its own sake rather than to make money).
The Northern quarter is a vibrant and eclectic place to live with an abundance of cafe's, bars and galleries the area always has a new place to discover. galleries nearby. There's fantastic shopping opportunities with Manchesters iconic Afflecks Palace at the bottom of the road and the apartment is situated just a 2 minute walk from the Arndale Shopping Centre and the National Football Museum.
There are lots of transport options around the immediate area with bus connections to the outskirts of the city and Shudehill Metrolink at the end of the street which gives convenient connections to Manchester City and Manchester Utd football grounds, Velopark, Media city in Salford and Heaton Park in north Manchester.
Other things to note
The apartment is very central in the Northern Quarter and has the added bonus of being quiet in the evenings (even on busy Friday and Saturday nights) so you're sure to have a good nights sleep. I've heard many worrying things about the budget hotels in the area and I don't recommend staying in them (BEWARE THE MERCHANTS HOTEL!!). I keep my price low as and want people to have a nice experience of visiting my city, even if they're on a budget!
Please do not smoke in the apartment, outside (on balcony) is fine though. Please remove shoes upon entering. Please make sure heating/plugs turned off when you leave.

I am a freelancer working in the entertainment industry and aspiring writer, I love Manchester and found many an inspiration from the City. Returning to live here after some years away I've moved to a completely new area and have made some great friends here. I love meeting new people and have enjoyed hosting and I pride myself on guests having a lovely stay.
I have a few passions, such as climbing, cooking and watching films. I spend time going to comedy gigs and the theatre or walking in the countryside. I enjoy peoples company, when guests have visited my home in the past, I have prepared meals while they were visiting and vice versa, as a kind of culinary cultural exchange!
I'm very relaxed and happy to leave people to their own devices should that be what you want and excited to meet all the guests I will hopefully host. I'm more than happy to offer advice on the nice places to eat and hidden gems of Manchester that very few tourists see or hear about as local knowledge goes a long way! Always happy to help make your stay here as pleasant as possible so feel free to ask me anything, including if discounts are available for longer stays ;)
