As this house is our family home it is only available when we are away on travels. So we arrange for members of our family (brother in law, sister) or neighbours to meet our guests, give them the keys and assist if needed. They will also come to receive the keys before the guests leave.
Skerjafjordur is the name of this seaside area, nearly a village in its own right in the city centre as it has only one access road. The way to the city centre goes through the main campus of the University of Iceland and then by the Pond (Tjörnin).
We recommend websites for information on Reykjavik and for news, what's on, pub guides etc.
City bus number 12 stops 130 meters from the front door and goes directly to the City Centre (2 km drive). Going to the city centre is a pleasant stroll via the University of Iceland's Campus and along the Reykjavik Pond. The seaside promenade is 150 meters away and connects to the Geothermal Beach to the east and the picturesque West part of town to the west.
We have a gentle middle aged spayed female cat. She (and the potted plants) is one of the main reasons we like to have people occupying our house while the family is away. Feeding the cat is mandatory, returning its attention is voluntary.
As this is our home we just ask guests to treat it with respect and leave our personal belongings where they are. The house is non-smoking and the area is quiet. Please respect our neighbours peace.

Hi, we are a couple with two girls (10 and 13) living in this house. We like to travel together, both in Iceland and abroad, and welcome good guests to stay in our house while we are away, looking after Lina, the resident she-cat, the flowers etc. As this is our home we would love to learn a little about our future guests and get to know them a little. So please drop us a line here.
The house, location and facilities both indoors and outdoors are really suited for larger families or even up to three or four couples travelling together. Each can have their private space.
