Tucked away in the tranquil Brandy Brook valley, The Granary holiday cottage offers a unique getaway in a secluded setting within Pembrokeshire Coast National Park. The newly-renovated two bedroom detached cottage sleeps up to four people and has cosy charm, modern amenities and beautiful views of the countryside from every window. Take a peaceful riverside walk from the front door or jump in the car and reach the stunning Newgale beach in only five minutes.
The space
Few locations are as peaceful as this, the main sounds you’ll hear are running water or the resident tawny owls, so you can properly relax. You can also escape bright lighting and enjoy truly dark skies and some impressive starry nights.
The Granary has been planned and designed with your holiday in mind, from the easy layout to the casual country style and calming colour palette.
DOWNSTAIRS
The open plan sitting/dining/kitchen area has all the comfy seating and facilities you need for a restful holiday, including smart TV, dishwasher, fridge with freezer box, microwave, oven and induction hob. The room is light and airy, with double French doors that open onto the garden.
The downstairs bedroom is spacious and extremely comfortable, with twin beds and an en-suite shower room. We provide you with luxurious bedding and soft towels, you just need to bring your own beach towels.
The utility room has a washing machine that you are welcome to use during your stay.
UPSTAIRS
A large bedroom with luxurious super-king bed, walk-in wardrobe, dressing table, seating area and en-suite shower room.
The cottage has under-floor heating downstairs and a generous radiator upstairs to keep it cosy during colder months. There are heated towel rails in each bathroom and a good supply of hot water. Heating and hot water are provided by air source heat pump to keep the property as sustainable as possible.
OUTSIDE
There is a private patio for the cottage. Feel free to pick herbs from the garden to use when cooking. There are also two parking spaces for the cottage, an EV charger* and an outside tap for rinsing off sandy feet and wetsuits. The cottage sits in 6 acres of sustainably-grazed land and ponds, shared with the adjacent historic Roch Mill. You are free to explore and look out for dragonflies, kingfishers, buzzards, toads and, if you’re really lucky, otters . The land is managed for wildlife and for a few weeks at the end of summer wild Welsh mountain ponies are used to graze the land, so some of the field will be fenced off, but a footpath is kept along the river at the edge of the field.
This is a property that promotes sustainable tourism, from the solar panels and EV charger to the recycled loo roll and bee bricks in the external stone wall!
*There is a Type 2 EV charger solely for the use of the cottage, (cable not provided). It is metered separately and will be charged at our current unit price for kWh, which can be settled at the end of your stay with us.
EXPLORE
The location is perfect for exploring beautiful Solva, historic St Davids or the stunning Pembrokeshire beaches and coastline.
The Victoria Inn, with its own microbrewery and kitchen, is one mile up the hill (downhill on the way home!). There are a range of other places to eat in the area that we are happy to recommend, depending on what you’re looking for. We provide a welcome book with lots of advice on where to go and what to do based on our love of the area.
