The Shed stands in the garden of the Old Oak - once the smuggling pub of Bonnington. With fabulous views over the Marsh we offer a bedroom with a king size bed and a separate kitchen/living room, everything beautifully designed and presented.

The space

Built originally for our family now living abroad - we love to share it with you when they are not with us. We consider the Shed is 'small but perfectly formed!' Everything is provided from bathroom goodies to kitchen stores (tea, coffee, sugar, flour, salt and pepper etc.) With shower room - cosy living room and private garden just for you, and views to die for across Romney Marsh it's the perfect place to explore the many attractions on offer in Kent.

Guest access

You are welcome to our garden but if you wish more privacy we have a corner specially for you with chairs and a table plus use of a BBQ. Sadly the Shed is not suitable for those with mobility problems as access is from an outside staircase as illustrated.

Interaction with guests

We love Romney Marsh and have lived here for years, so we look forward to helping you with the many things there are to see in our part of Kent. We so enjoy sharing in our visitor's discoveries!

Other things to note

We have two VERY friendly golden retrievers that will bark a greeting! They are totally soppy and harmless.

I can't recommend the shed highly enough, it is a really beautiful and relaxing place to stay, kitted out with everything you need. We were lucky with the weather and were able to make the most of the garden and spectacular views. Sadly we didn't get to meet Tina, but we got lots of helpful communication from her before and after, and their friend (who was looking after the place while she was away) was really nice and couldn't have been more helpful and accommodating. Would love to return at some point in the future.

I would recommend the Shed very highly as it is so pretty and very well laid out with everything you need. You really feel you can relax and enjoy the beautiful surroundings. The hosts are such kind and lovely people. I couldn't recommend it enough and wouldn't hesitate to stay there again.

My husband and I were looking for somewhere quiet and relaxing as a little break away from busy life with two young boys for our anniversary. We were not disappointed! The Shed is beautiful, spotlessly clean and we even had an anniversary card and some prosecco waiting for us! Tina was fab with communication with us and the garden and surroundings are kids lovely. We will definitely come back soon!

The Shed is a an amazing little find for a trip down to the South Kent Coast, Tina is a superb host and communication and booking was just so easy with her, the accommodation had all that was needed and was lovely, bright, airy and very clean and I would not hesitate to recommend it for either a short stay or longer and also if attending an event at Lympne Castle its the perfect base.

Cosy, lovely and clean place. Tranquil and perfect getaway from the hustle and bustle of the city. A car is recommended to explore the area and we really enjoyed visiting the medieval churches surrounding Romney Marsh.

I love Romney Marsh, and so it's a pleasure to share The Shed and this fascinating part of England with new friends. We have lived here for 41 years and built The Shed for our far flung family, but when they are not with us - for you! It was such fun to decorate it - creative people enjoy the many quirky features! Kent has so much to see, and so handy for a day trip to France!
