We were very pleasantly surprised by the comfortable appartment, airconditioned, private parking, large balcony, very close to the beach and the village with shops and restaurants. It is an ideal location to combine cultural visits to Rome with quiet and cooler evenings than in Rome. The beach is great to cool down after a warm and busy day in Rome. Less than an hours drive to Rome (with inexpensive plublic parking in the very city center, parking Gianicola) or by train with leaves at the station of Santa Marinelle less than a kilometer from the appartment. Maria Grazia is very kind with lots of help and suggestions to make your stay simply magnifico !

Comfortable accommodation with good facilities. There is a green grocer close walk at end of street and a supermarket a little further. Closest beach is a stone beach - impossible to walk on or swim at. Further along is a sandy beach - impossible to walk on as it is crowded with hired umbrellas. All very disappointing. There are no reasonable restaurants in walking distance of apartment, can drive to others but parking an issue. Right close to terrace of apartment is a "dog park" and at end of each day dog owners arrive to exercise their dogs, the barking rather annoying, and also at other times of day also. Close railway line rather noisy. Apartment has good parking at rear and a lift which is excellent if you are on a driving holiday with lots of luggage. Location is an easy 45 min drive from Rome Airport.

Response from Maria Grazia:
Dear Peter thanks for your feedback. I just want to point out a few things of your statements: first of all, I'm sorry if you found that beaches were crowded but I've to tell you that july is high season in Italy and almost all the beaches are crowded (and that's good for our economy!)... Second: the park is not a" dog park", is a green public area and , yes, It happens that dog owners arrive at the end of the day to let the animals walk, as commonly done in parks. The park closes at sunset. Anyway I'm really afraid that dogs disturbed you for a while. Railway is close to the apartment, as per description of the apartment, but since today no one of the guests were annoyed by trains, which pass only during the day and not often, because the line is a secondary one.

We enjoyed ourselves in the apartment of Maria in Santa Marinella. We were met by Maria when we arrived. She was a good host who spoke good english. We are a family of 5. 2 adults, 2 youngsters and a girl in 7 years. All felt at home this week. And enjoyed both the stone beach below the house and on the sandy beach in the center. The apartment is convenient, well equipped with what you need. It has a cozy balcony where we ate breakfast in the morning and shared a glass of wine in the evening. The apartment has its own parking which was convenient when we came by car. Nice neighbors. It was walking distance to downtown. We enjoyed the city center with all the small restaurants. There was a big parade in the center one day, with lots of life. It was a super market right beside it made purchases easier. The youth were pleased with the internet in this apartment. We would love to come back here another time.

The apartment was simply perfect! Very clean, spacious, with all utilities that we needed. A lovely terrace, our own secured parking space, walking distance to a little beach across the street, everything was just there! The communication also went smoothly and we even got a bottle of wine when we arrived. I would highly recommend this little peace of heaven :)

We chose this lovely apartment for our family holiday exploring northern Lazio. It lived up to, and in fact surpassed, our expectations. Maria Grazia was an excellent host who even stayed up late to check us in after a delayed flight, and she responded really quickly to our queries. The apartment itself was light and clean with a large balcony which our two children (five year old boys) loved. The kitchen was very well equipped and we were really grateful for the beach towels and beach equipment (umbrella, beach mats, etc.) that were provided. Despite being next to the railway line (a bonus for boys who love trains!) it was actually really quiet and we were not disturbed at all day or night (I am a very light sleeper). The private parking space in a secure area behind the apartment was great and the apartment was well located being only short walk from the supermarket, a rocky beach and lovely marina. Santa Marinella is also a great location for exploring northern Lazio and is only a short drive from Fiumicino airport. During our stay we easily drove to the lovely beach at Santa Severa, Etruscan tombs at Cerveteri, Lago di Bracciano (good swimming and interesting aeroplane museum), Lago di Vico, the amphitheatre at Sutri and took the train from Santa Marinella to Rome - we also visited a hot spring and a lovely waterfall (a bit of the beaten track) and managed to spend the day at Ostia Antica before our flight home. We therefore strongly recommend the apartment to anyone wishing to visit the interesting countryside and historical sites of northern Lazio and Rome, or to spend time at the lovely beaches along the coast or the nearby lakes. We definitely would like to return to the apartment in the not too distant future.

Maria is a very welcoming host, my family and I thoroughly enjoyed the apartment and Santa Marinella. The apartment was clean and spacious. We didn't hire a car, and got around easily, travelled into rome one day, supermarket is less than 5mins walk away, rocky/pebble beach is directly across the road, but the sandy beach is approx. 15mins walk away (leisurely walking pace) near to the train station. There are buses (~€1) that run to/from the station/beach but they are infrequent/sporadic and we only used the bus once. Overall a great stay and would go back.
