Description

The space

We live just next door, so if you need help with the wood burner or have any queries, please just knock and ask.
If you want to book a week, please ask for prices.

Guest access

You have your own south facing patio, which has joint access.

Interaction with guests

We are happy to help with the wood burner, ideas on best places to visit maps and guide books are available too. If you have children this is a great place to stay and my boys love showing guests around the village and showing them the best places to play and where they have a den!

Other things to note

There are fantastics walks straight from your front door, go down the beck (stream) and have a picnic. Or go up Murton Pike for wonderful views of the Eden Valley.
Please let me know if you are bringing bikes, so I can store them in the lockable stone shed (old pig sty) and make a key available for you too.

The house and host are absolutely lovely! Everything is super clean and true to the photos. There are lots of great walks by the river or up the mountain just outside the house, our dogs loved it!!!

Lovely countryside retreat for a few days of relaxing get away time. Nice walks right on the doorstep, perfect for our dogs who received a warm welcome. Mary Anne and her family were very welcoming and helpful. Barn was clean and had everything we needed. Log burner was a lovely touch. Would definitely recommend

Lovely cosy place with spectacular countryside around. A few miles off the main road so better for peace and quiet than travel connections. Enough room for a small family (2+2kids). Mezzanine floor bedroom was different to normal room layout and nice to see what's going on downstairs. Overall very enjoyable!

Response from Mary-Anne:
Thanks Paul, I hope to be able to host you and your family again. Regarding the texts and emails, that is how Airbnb operate with both a text and email on each communication. So for your future bookings this will be the same process...I hope that clarifies the situation for you.

Mary-Anne was a fantastic host from start to finish. I'd said we were coming over as a birthday treat and on arrival was greeted with homemade biscuits, birthday cards and banners. The barn itself is in a beautiful location and the setting outside the barn is lovely, with trees and feeders. We were able to sit with our morning coffee and watch the birds. Inside the cottage we found lots of games and books, great for kids and adults and plenty of dvds. The fire is lovely and toasty and the double room has an amazingly comfortable bed! The bath is a real treat as it's so big! Overall, we had a really enjoyable birthday weekend, made extra special by the efforts of Mary-Anne. We would 100% return!

I love living in Cumbria, with the amazing views I see everyday.
I am quite a busy Mum with 2 boys that love football (as we all do in our family).
I love to go walking, cycling, orchid hunting around cumbria and watch my boys play football. Also baking, making jewellery and when I get the chance to do some knitting!
My favourite holiday destination is India and I can't wait to take my family there to enjoy the wonderful scenery, culture and hospitality.
