Trafalgar House is , as David and Kathy says , about 30 minutes from downtown CBD .If you are here to focus on tourist sites or to engage in business which requires you downtown, then this may not be the location for you . If you are here in Auckland on a long term stay this is perfect for you . Its family orientated , safe , warm and peaceful and I therefore highly recommend it . The kitchen cum dining room is big with cooking facilities and cozy with old victorian stove and hearth as decorative reminders . The bedrooms are not big but the kitchen , and especially outdoor patios surrounding all the rooms , are perfect places to read and relax . The entire home is a Victorian Heritage house and if you are into architecture and home renovation you will be enamoured with fine intricacies of that period . For example I come from Singapore , a former British colony , so for years I say W.C for toilets , but with no idea why it is so . When I stepped into TH's toilet upon arrival the sight of a toilet within a closet dawned on me , and a hilarious joy and mirth followed at my personal eureka .

My stay at Trafalgar House was an absolute pleasure. Kathy is a lovely host and has everything organized perfectly for an optimum multi-guest lodging. I appreciated the beautiful home and safe atmosphere, and the location was great as I was able to walk to two different malls, restaurants, an art museum in the park, and One Tree Hill, and a waterfront trail all within 2 days! I didn't bother with public transport as I found the farthest walk was only 30 minutes, but I saw many bus stops along the way. Overall a great value, I'd definitely recommend to anyone looking for a quiet place to enjoy Auckland away from the cramped and bustling downtown.

This cozy house was the perfect place to relax and unwind. The house was beautiful and I enjoyed the bath tub. There are many delicious restaurants nearby but expect to bus to get into the city. I highly recommend to any female travelers wanting someplace safe and inviting.

Trafalgar House is a wonderful place to stay. Kathy is a very welcoming snr friendly host. The house is beautiful, a big old house with lots of charm. It was great to meet the other girls staying in the house over breakfast or dinner in the dining room. I felt very comfortable and relaxed there. It was easy to take the bus into the CBD (the bus stop is down the street) and it is a 10-15 minute walk to shops and restaurants. I had a great overall experience.
