Room is equipped with Whirlpool mini fridge and Roku flat screen TV. All of the amenities you could want within the home and a guaranteed good nights sleep.

Interaction with guests

I can help you plan your stay or simply just let you be. I can also help set up tours of various sites, give restaurant tips and anything else needed, depending on the guest. A few guides to DC in the guest room, as well.

The neighbourhood

Congress Heights is across the river from downtown DC, super quiet, you can actually hear crickets outside, which is rare in DC. Tons of parking and just outside the madness of the city. 10 minutes drive to downtown DC or MGM Grand at the National Harbor, 3 minutes to military installation and 295, steps to bus lines, .5 miles to Congress Heights metro station. Congress Heights and Washington, D.C. as a whole is incredibly urban. It is recommended to never leave items in your car and always be aware of your surroundings.

Getting around

Tons of street parking, no permit required. Multiple interstates within a mile, Congress Heights metro station is .5 miles away, bike paths and bus lines near by. Uber, Car2Go, Enterprise car-share and other ride-sharing totally accessible. Average Uber fare to the Capitol is $8.

Other things to note

My work hours fluctuate but due to the private entrance, you can check in at any time. LGBTQ friendly guests only, please!

Our stay was just as described. My 11 year old grandson and I stayed 6 days. She is close to the Congress Heights metro station. We did Lyft to the metro but the bus stops right down the street. I used it twice (The neighborhood is fine. I noticed previous reviews about the area were not good. Here's the thing.... in Anywhere, USA we must be aware of what's happening around us, show more caution in night ANY enjoy your stay D.C. is lovely...full of history and modern) The room & bathroom are very clean. The room is practical and has extra perks (hair dryer, soap, iron & small fridge). The bed is comfortable. Michelle gave pointers about eats and places to see when asked. She is easy to reach but she doesn't hover. She saved us from a disaster on our last day. We would have missed our flight without her quick thinking and help. (Thank you) Whenever I am able to come back to D.C. I will want to stay here again.

Michelle was a great host—responsive, honest, friendly, and helpful. It was my first airbnb experience and she made it seamless and simple. Exactly as described, Michelle's place for our needs and her hospitality was appreciated.

Michelle's place was very nice to stay in. I loved how easy it was to self check in. Though the room is small for two people, the furniture was laid out in a way that would efficiently maximize space. Michelle is very responsive and cheerfully helped us out whenever we reached out. She made our stay in DC quite pleasant.

Michelle User ProfileMichelle is a superhost.

I am from Queens, New York originally, moved to D.C. for graduate school at George Washington University and have lived in the city ever since. I work on Capitol Hill and am a real enthusiast of the district. I love having friends and family in town to tour and explore the sights and ever changing things to do. I also manage another property in the city. I spend my free time cleaning, watching HGTV and daydreaming about travel.

As a host, I am happy to interact with guests and provide information about my neighborhood and the city at large. I have tons of books and magazines to share. I love providing hospitality to others, so please never be shy about asking for anything to make your stay more comfortable.
