Beautifully restored 4 star gold award fisherman's cottage with a courtyard garden, hot outside shower, minutes from beaches in the heart of the old town on a quiet cobbled street. Stylish interiors provide contemporary comfort with authentic charm.

The space

Four star gold award listed.
The cottage has 2 separate entrances - the lower entrance is on street level so great for unloading luggage. The other entrance is at the top of granite steps and leads into the kitchen. There is also a side entrance which leads directly to the outside garden terrace with the hot outside shower which is perfect for when returning from the beach. There are 3 good-sized bedrooms - one at the front on the upper floor with great views over the rooftops to the sea beyond. The lower floor has 2 bedrooms - one with a teak 4-poster double bed and door leading to the lower garden terrace, the other bedroom has twin single beds (which can be linked to make a large double) and is at the front on the lower floor.
The cottage is on a pretty cobbled street and we have a series of original ships lights on the outside of the cottage to light your way if you are arriving in the evening. The cottage is in a great location on Virgin Street- right in the heart of the conservation area of the old town, 2 minutes from the beaches, harbour, and cafes and restaurants yet quiet as the street is a traffic free road.

Guest access

The whole cottage is available for your stay.
This includes free wifi, well equipped cook's kitchen with high spec appliances -dishwasher, microwave, dualit toaster and coffee machine, freezer and washing machine. There is a HDTV and Bose sound system in the living room and iPod docking system in the top bedroom.
The beds are all very comfortable with feather pillows, good quality linen, and towels all provided for your stay. There will be fresh flowers on your arrival.

Interaction with guests

We are artists/designers and have a shop "Earthworks St Ives" ((URL HIDDEN) in St Ives on Fish Street which is the road next to the Sloop pub on the harbour, so are always available should you need anything.
The shop is 2 minutes from Artist Cottage.

Other things to note

Parking in St Ives can be limited at peak times.
The nearest car parks (3 minutes away) are Barnoon car park (long stay) or the Sloop car park (short stay - to unload). The Sloop is convenient to unload. We are happy to give further directions to these car parks when you book.

Kate's place is in a GREAT location, so close to the main drag and beaches. It was also a great size. Parking/driving in St. Ives is probably difficult no matter what, but we'd recommend a small car and to follow Kate's directions. And bring ear plugs for the noisy sea gulls!

Kate's cottage is amazing. Just as beautiful as shown on the pictures. Ideally located in St Ives, quiet but also around the corner of lovely shops and restaurants. Beautiful interior and layout of the cottage. My kids loved it just like their parents! Happy to come back anytime.

The Artist's Cottage is in a fantastic central location, and is quirky, beautifully kept and great to stay in whatever the weather. We had a nice welcome pack and hand-written card from Kate on our arrival, and she was really helpful in answering our questions about the cottage. The kitchen is well-equipped, the bathrooms and showers are good (though I never made use of the outside shower) and the bedrooms are full of character. A great place to stay really.

We had such a lovely couple of days here - the house is absolutely beautiful and in such a great location, just couple of streets away from the sea. The house itself is charming and very 'St. Ives' in style, but also very well designed and equipped with lots of luxuries - good quality bedding, super soft pillows, thick fluffy towels. I can't think of anything I'd change! Kate was lovely to deal with too - really prompt replies to my questions and gave us lots of info on how to get to the house etc. She even left a gift and flowers for us when we arrived. Can't wait to return.

The Artist's Cottage was a delightful place to stay. Although it was central to restaurants, the harbor and the beach, the cottage was quiet and cozy. My one year old was even able to toddle to the beach from the house. The house was beautifully decorated, the beds comfortable, and the amenities were perfect.

Can't say enough about Kate's Cottage! She goes above and beyond to make you feel welcome. Coffee, tea, fresh flowers, etc.... it has been one of our best stays ever. Lovely and interesting layout, attention to detail and all around good taste. I am quite the critic but have nothing bad to say here. Clean, quite, charming, and great location. 10 out of 10! Highly recommend!

Such a lovely place to stay in St Ives! We had a magical 4 nights at Kate's beautiful 'Artist Cottage'. The cottage itself is just gorgeous, and literally just a few steps away from the harbour front in St Ives, we often walked back barefoot from the beach! It is situated in a pretty cobbled, quiet street just moments away from the water front and shops and restaurants. You can't want for anything, everything has been thought of in the cottage, immaculately clean and well presented, even fresh flowers and a lovely gift on arrival - what a lovely welcome, and the beds are sooo comfortable!! The kitchen is really well equipped and the lounge area is lovely to relax in, flooded with light. The furnishings throughout the cottage are all beautiful and of very high quality. Kate was super helpful and friendly with directions and details about our stay, thankyou for all your help Kate x We are already planning our next trip back to the cottage, you will love staying here, I guarantee.
