Description

The space

Enter the studio apartment through the common, plant-filled atrium. You have a private entrance to the studio. There is a kitchenette, large closet to hang or put folded clothes or other items. Additionally there are two small night stands with drawers. A small step down takes you to the bathroom which also houses a washer and dryer. There is also an ironing board, iron, hair dryer. Linens. blankets, EO shower gel, shampoo and conditioner are included. Since San Francisco has been experiencing a severe drought over the last 5 years, mindfulness of water use is appreciated.

Guest access

In those moments when you want a break from exploring the city, the French doors of the bedroom open onto a peaceful patio and garden which has lounge chairs and a table. You can eat outside or just enjoy the peace and quiet on one of our ever-increasing sunny days. Take a snooze if you so desire!

Interaction with guests

I love having guests and am always happy to offer recommendations for places to eat, hear music, dance and explore. If I know when you are arriving and I am home, I'd enjoy meeting and greeting and will show your digs. The rest of the time, I'm generally available if you need anything or have questions, but I the place is yours.

The neighbourhood

It's said that the sunset is one of the best kept secrets of San Francisco. This quiet, safe neighborhood is great place to start and end any exploration of the city. Golden Gate park is just 3 blocks away and is one of my favorite places to visit with museums, Japanese Tea Gardens, paddle boats, bike riding, roller skating, segway rides,Bison, Bison??!!! Yes!) free concerts, and of course Lindy In The Park. ( My personal preference!) The beach is a 5 minute drive, or you can walk uphill 6-7 blocks to the beautiful tiled stairway and great views of the city. Close to local public transportation; UC Med Center is a 10 minute ride on the N Judah.

Getting around

Close to great public transportation; especially inbound N Judah (2 blocks away) which takes you to nearby UC Med Center, Haight Ashbury, as well as downtown, AT&T Park and Cal Trans which are a bit further. Outbound N Judah (1 block away) is a 10 minute ride to the beach. Great connections to BART as well as other areas of the city. Fifteen to twenty minutes to Golden Gate Bridge.

Other things to note

I live upstairs and occasionally have my dog nephew visit (upstairs). You may also hear a few footsteps. Guests have told me the house is very peaceful and they enjoy the quiet. The house is professionally cleaned after each visit. Please feel free to read the books, use the yoga mats and blocks, or leave rental bikes in the atrium. I've left maps and tourist info for you to use.

The garden studio was well-equipped with the necessities, such as wine, chocolate, and coffee. The garden patio was lovely and peaceful. We enjoyed our stay very much.

If all Airbnb listings were like Jill and her listing, I don't think anyone would bother with a hotel ever again! It was simply amazing to see all the thoughtful details she put into her space – from the walking tour maps of San Francisco, to the selection of coffee's and teas in the kitchenette. Her unit is very mindfully crafted to make you feel at home when you're nowhere near it. Her space is also very close to a lot of restaurants and the Golden Gate Park, which, being outdoorsy-types, the husband and I loved. If you're looking for a clean, homey, friendly space in San Francisco, look no further! Thanks for everything Jill!

Jill's studio is a little gem! That was our first time in SF and staying at Jill's made our stay an unforgettable experience. Yes, there is everything you may wish to find in the studio. We felt home but better. The bed is perfect, which is so important in SF when you visit the city. It is the most quiet studio and the patio is a +, with its beautiful trees, plants, table and seats. Jill is an amazing host, we had great conversations, sharing thoughts and experiences. For sure next time we come to SF, we'll be at Jill's! Thanks so much!

Loved this studio - lots of light, great view out to the enclosed patio, comfortably equipped with everything a guest might need, down to both caf and decaf coffee and milk for the morning as well as a bottle of wine for the evening. Jill is friendly and available, though never an intrusion. We loved this place and will be back. And, as the piece de resistance, it was only about 3 blocks from our kids and new grandson that we were visiting.

Jill's beautiful studio apartment reflects her warm personality. For us, it was a joy to come back to at the end of a busy day. We loved our stay here and appreciated Jill's attention to detail - she has thought of everything her guests might need. The N line MUNI is two minutes down the road so it's an easy journey downtown one way or to ocean beach the other. Sunset's restaurants and shops are five or six minutes walk and Golden Gate Park about ten minutes.
