It's a Coleman pop-up trailer, with two beds (Queen and twin). YOU DO NEED YOUR OWN SLEEPING BAG. There's a small table and two padded bench seats. There's a fully equipped stove/galley with cooking utensils, plates, pots and pans. No pets.
The pop-up trailer is located in the back corner of our yard, so it's fairly private. There is an outdoor shower right next to it, a utility sink outside our garage, and a toilet inside the garage. We also have a nice coffee cabinet, in which we supply coffee, tea, cream, sugar, hot water kettle, and oatmeal.
As a guest, you'll be able to access the back yard (through a gate by the side of the house) the lawn space for camping, the toilet in the garage, the utility sink by the garage door, the coffee/tea cabinet, several outlets for charging, and wifi. There's an outdoor shower, and we provide towels. In addition, there is a grocery store, pizza parlor, laundromat, and post office in walking distance.
We don't accept check-ins after 10 pm. Please plan your travel day accordingly, so you're able to arrive, check in with one of us, and get set up.
The gate is just to the right of our garage. There is a toilet in the garage: the door is around the back by the utility sink, and the toilet is in the far right corner of the garage. Also, there's a coffee cabinet in breezeway by the woodshed, and it has coffee, a French press, tea, oatmeal, a hot water kettle, and utensils.
Interaction with guests
We're generally available during the day.
Other things to note
We do allow camping on the back lawn, so there's a good chance you may not be the only guests staying at our site.
No smoking of any kind.
We prefer check-in by 9 pm, so we have a chance to meet you, get you towels, and show you where everything is on the property. If you're delayed by traffic, we'll let guests check in up until 10 pm, but no later. We encourage guests traveling from the Bay Area or along Highway 1 in particular to plan accordingly.
We live in a residential neighborhood, so excessive noise that bothers our neighbors is something we want to avoid. We're okay with moderate use of beer or wine.
If you've booked a reservation for yourself and others, we ask that access to the property is limited to paying guests only.
I am a English teacher at the local community college.
My wife and I have traveled through a good deal of the US, some of western Europe, eastern Europe, and even Thailand.
I love to read, to cook and eat good food, to write poetry, to go bike touring with my son.
Since we've opened our airbnb site, we've really enjoyed interacting with travelers from all over the USA and the world.
Since we have a nice big back yard, we thought this was a perfect way to offer a space for folks to come visit Eureka, particularly bike campers and bike groups, but we're open to all sorts of travelers. We hope you have a chance to come stay with us!
