I can't say enough good things about this apartment, and Audur! The Apartment: Perfect for us! The bed was SO comfortable. She had towels for us in the bathroom. The kitchen had everything we needed to make meals. The reading area is probably the cutest part of the apartment, and very cozy. We were able to relax and felt right at home. Note to Americans - bring power outlet converters (and adapters if your items are only for 110v). We bought ours in the US (a 3 pack was $9 on Amazon) and brought them with us. The prices for these in Iceland was 3x that amount. Location: Great! It was a short walking distance to Kornið bakery and Kaffi Laugalækur, a cute cafe. Also, right across the street was a nice walking path along the beach, with a great view of downtown Reykjavik. We rented a car, so we did not attempt to walk to downtown Reykjavik (we drove) but it would have probably been a longer walk, maybe 20 minutes? But the drive is super quick - 5 min or less to get to downtown. Also, parking is free at the apartment and we always found a close spot. The owner: Audur was wonderful. She was prompt in responding to us when we contacted her with questions. She also provided us with some helpful tips, as well as with her personal recommendations on things to see and places to eat. Bottom line: If we are able to make it to Iceland again, we will definitely be looking to stay here again!

We had a great time in Audur's lovely apartment. The bed was comfy and cozy, and we slept well every day. There was a local tours pick-up point near the apartment, which was very convenient.

Auður's flat is cosy, homely and warm. Beautifully furnished, with loads of natural light, it really helped make our trip to Reykjavik special. The flat is a 10minute bus ride from the city centre, which suited us perfectly. It was such a lovely place to stay, we really can't recommend it enough!

Has everything you need for a nice time. There are a few markets near by so you can make your own food in the kitchen or there are restaurants that are also close if you prefer. There is a bus line that runs close by as well.

Audur's home is beautiful. It has so much charm and character and it's really comfortable and easy to relax in. We cooked a few evenings and made breakfast every morning. The bed is really comfortable and the shower is great. There were plenty of towels and everything you'd need for a comfortable stay. The number 12 bus takes you straight into the centre of Reykjavik, but it's easy to walk too. It's such a safe area that we walked home most evenings. It is really close to a 24hr shop, restaurants and a public outdoor, heated swimming pool. The area is lovely and quiet and we didn't hear the neighbours once. Audur was so helpful and her communication is excellent. She recommended lots of lovely places and made some really useful suggestions about our trip. I would highly recommend Audurs place!

We had a great time at Audur's place in lovely Reykjavik. Prior to our arrival, Audur's communication with us was exceptional, even giving us weather updates in Iceland's very changeable climate. Moreover, when we first booked Audur spent several hours messaging me because Airbnb malfunctioned half way through the booking - she was also incredibly patient when I didn't understand the weekly discount! Our arrival instructions were clear and the place was easy to find. The apartment is as described and was very clean, well decorated and stylish with everything we needed (Brits beware that there is a hob kettle but it suited the place and we had no issues with it). There was always a parking space available should you have a hire care and it is well situated for Reykjavik as well as public transport links and main roads for exploring this wonderful country. If you get the Gray Line bus from the airport you should ask to get off at City Hostel and it's only a five minute walk which we managed fine in the snow with suitcases. The flat was very quiet despite its proximity to the road and neighbouring flat blocks and Audur and her partner have a great collection of books for quiet days indoors. We couldn't recommend staying at Audur's more and we would happily stay there again. Thank you so much Audur for everything!

Audur was an incredible communicator prior to our arrival. We had lots of questions about Iceland and Reykjavik. She was helpful, kind, and generous with her words. The apartment is charming, not fancy, and very comfortable.

My name is Auður Lóa Guðnadóttir (22), and I am an artist recently graduated from the Icelandic Academy of the Arts. I currently live in a small but good apartment with my boyfriend Starkaður Sigurðarson (25).

We love to eat good food, visit museums, read and bike, as well as spending time in the studio. We are also extremely fond of tea.

We make a good team, and enjoy working together both at artistic and non artistic jobs. We both work part time at a nursing home for the elderly, caring for people suffering from alzheimers disease. We also work with other artists and galleries as assistants, doing odd jobs, painting or construction. We've been part of various strange projects for film and music festivals, including building a 4m high tree and two large golden puffins.
