The space

Private Entrance, Private Full Bath within walking distance to all of Hudson!

This is a BUDGET space in the transitional part of town - clean and comfortable and a short two-block walk to all that Hudson has to offer.

This is also a space for people who enjoy their privacy - with a private entrance and a private bath. If you need anything, just text me, I live upstairs with my two pups.

On State Street between 3rd and 4th, around the corner from Club Helsinki and a stone's throw to Warren Street.

Use the park just two doors down to walk down the staircase and to Warren Street, just two short blocks, a few minutes away.

Queen-sized bed. The room is approximately 15' x 18'.

The "history" of the space:

During the Revolutionary War, the British attacked Nantucket and stole the whale oil. Well, the Quaker whalers were like, 'Forget this, we're outta here!'

They bought land in upstate New York and figured, 'Hey, we're traveling thousands of miles on the ocean getting these whales, what's another hundred miles up he Hudson River?'

It's a whaling town in upstate New York, and that's why you'll see whales on the signs. They picked up everything and moved and founded Hudson - including (and this is debatable) their HOUSES!!

(At least their STYLE of Nantucket/Cape Cod box houses with a second floor of eyebrow windows.)

This house is called a "floater", floating over on a whale boat from Nantucket. It's around 200 years old. You're staying in the old kitchen (heat rises to warm the rest of the house) and you'll find a bread oven behind the latched panel.

Totally renovated in 2015. Radiant heat coils are under the cement floor. Original wood panels and new bathroom. Original stairs showing 200 years of wear and tear.

Guest access

Private Access via front of the house. Ground level, under staircase.

I will give you a code for the door prior to arrival.

Interaction with guests

I live upstairs.

Text me and let me know if you need anything. I send an orientation email prior to your visit with codes, parking info, etc...

There will be cookies waiting for you.

Other things to note

Two small dogs live in the house above, you may hear them bouncing around once in a while.

The hot water is on-demand. It gets very hot, very quickly. Be careful.
The TV is a SmartTV, like a Smartphone, you can get apps, such as Netflix and Hulu. It takes about two minutes once on to configure, then it's good to go.

Trixie was so incredible before our stay even started! I had a bunch of questions being a first-time Air BnB user and Trixie was EXTREMELY helpful and accommodating. Not only was Trixie an amazing host from the very beginning of the booking process, but the space itself was perfect. A quaint studio just a short walk away from all the best places in Hudson. My boyfriend and I had a great stay! :-)

Rich / Trixie User ProfileRich / Trixie is a superhost.

I spent over twenty years living in Manhattan - processing derivative trades, reconciling accounts, and implementing systems at some of the largest Wall Street firms.

Now I live in Hudson, organize events, such as the local Pride parade, bake cookies throughout town, and run an AirBnB space.

No more beige cubicles for me - every day is like a vacation day!
