Polis is a small authentic town by the sea and provides a pleasant, friendly environment for a relaxing or romantic holiday and an ideal base for activities, e.g. swimming, cycling, biking, hiking, snorkeling, scuba-diving etc. Exploring the spectacular Akamas nature reserve is a must, so is a visit to Latchi with its fishing port, beach, harbour-side restaurants, sea-sport facilities and boating excursions. Both are a short car/ cycle ride away.
Local villages, A Natural Healing Spa, Trodos Mountains, Paphos town, Golf courses and much more are easily accessible by car.
The walk into the centre of Polis is easy (8 minutes) and so is the walk to the nearest supermarket, bakery etc. in the opposite direction towards Latchi.
It is a little far to walk to Latchi and other nearby areas such as Argaka, but they are only a short bicycle ride away. (Bicycles and cars can be hired locally and taxi services are also available). A car, is however, recommended to travel around to the local villages, to nearby towns like Paphos and further away to the Trodos Mountains etc.
There is a Natural Healing Spa resort in nearby Miliou (Ayii Anargyri Natural Healing Spa Resort). It is a short car drive away, situated next to Miliou's healing springs.
For Golf enthusiasts: Paphos offers several excellent golf courses, The Secret Valley Golf Club (6120 meters and 18 holes plays to par 72 ) is 18 km east of Paphos, the most recently opened is the luxurious Aphrodite Hills (6299 meters and plays to par 70).
Tsada Golf Course (6060 meters and 18 holes, plays to par 72) is the nearest, it is just 25 minutes away from Polis. As it is on an elevated position 550 meters above sea level it benefits from cool breezes during the summer months.

We are a mature, retired but active, couple living in Hertfordshire in the UK and our children are grown up with their own families. As Chris (my husband) is originally from Cyprus we built our holiday home there and we love to stay as often as we can. We offer the opportunity for others to share in this experience and have been happy to welcome guests throughout the year since 2008. As we cannot always be in Cyprus ourselves our property manager looks after the place and our guests throughout the year.
We, ourselves, have mostly traveled in Europe (by car, plane, train or coach) and stayed in many self catering or Bed and Breakfast places. Just as we expect our guests to respect our holiday home we also respect the holiday homes of our hosts wherever we go.
What we both find interesting is to explore new places, enjoy the sights, the food, the environment and the culture of the place and of course anything of historic significance. A good night out is one with good food, good company and enjoyable music. We enjoy walks, swimming, theatre, musicals and any local entertainment that reflects the culture of the place or country we visit.
