Guest access

Fill your days with Fishing, White Water Rafting, soaking in the local Hot Springs, hiking the numerous Trails in the Willamette National Forrest, inner tube on nearby Blue River, go for a swim in Blue River Reservoir, rent a row boat on Clear Lake, or hike around it, visit the gorgeous local Water Falls, bike or hike The Mckenzie River Trail, have a fire in the Pit next to the River, or just relax on the Deck of your Cabin and wave to the folks drifting by.Don't forget to visit our Beautiful Koi Pond across the street and you can relax on the Deck next to a Cabin Cruiser from Hurricane Katrina!

Interaction with guests

I live right across the street so I will be here to check you in, answer any questions you may have and be a phone call away if you need me. Other than that I like to leave my guests to enjoy their privacy.

The neighbourhood

There are so many wonderful things to see and do in this area, it's likely you will run out of time before you run out of adventures.

Getting around

Lane Transit District has a bus route that runs from Eugene to Mckenzie Bridge Ranger Station and back 4 times on weekdays, twice on weekends per day. The Bus stop is about a 1/2 mi. away.

Other things to note

This Cabin is located next to Hwy. 126. While it is not normally a highly travelled road, it can be on occasion. You most likely will hear some road noise. People that have stayed here in the past have said that the River drowns most of it out. When I purchased this Cabin I stayed over night and I didn't notice the traffic until the a.m. Since then I have added sound machines to the cabins in case anyone was sensitive.

What a gem! This cabin felt like all the perks of scenic camping (immersion in nature/wonderful view/seclusion) with the comforts of the indoors. The cabin is charmingly rustic in the best ways but has all the amenities you could need. You're essentially hanging over the river and have a gorgeous view. We loved the sound of the water rushing by and found it to naturally drown out any highway noise (mother nature's "white noise.") The cabin is perfect for a romantic getaway. We cooked and ate in, which was easy in the updated kitchen. There's a good selection of movies and music (lots of 90s country, which is really nostalgic for me.) There are a few board games, as well. We played Monopoly and drank tea on a rainy night. Kim was a great communicator, letting us know when the cabin was ready and checking in. There are other cabins adjacent, but the cabin is free-standing and felt very private. Also, just FYI- I had signal/LTE with Verizon for those who are wondering.

Great cabin on the McKenzie river. The owner was very good with communication and had a lot of little touches around the place to make it feel like a home. We'll stay again some day, I'm sure.

Kim's cabin was just perfect. I was looking forward to simplicity and a beautiful view of nature and Blue Moon delivered! The traffic is noticeable but I didn't mind it at all. The river was spectacular and the sound of the rapids was music to my ears. I loved the historic nature of the cabin and Kim has it set up so it is well appointed and up to date. I would definitely like to stay there again.

I stayed a couple night in the cabin and it was absolutely lovely. Perfect for 1 or 2 people - I wouldn't try to squeeze any additional into it. It was a joy grilling on the porch. Everything was in working order and it was a pleasure to get off of internet/wifi (no cell reception). If that's something you can tolerate - the river and surrounding hikes are tremendous.

The cabin was wonderful, had a spectacular view of the river and had everything we needed! Didn't meet Kim while we were there but she was very communicative and easy to work with regardless. There is a lot of fun hiking, snowshoeing and hotsprings to check out in the area. I recommend going for a spin around Cougar Reservoir! The cabin was quite small, but the three of us are close friends so the coziness wasn't a problem. If we had brought a 4th friend it would have been pretty tight though. We were also surprised to find that the second bed was an air mattress but it wasn't a problem - easy to set up and still comfy! Theres no wifi and very little cell reception, so make sure you plan ahead for that. All in all, a fantastic weekend!
