At first, they could not remember our booking when I contacted them the previous day. When we arrived at the airport of Amman, there was no driver. Calling them via (SENSITIVE CONTENTS HIDDEN) was not answered. Then the information desk people called them and they replied. We had to find a taxi driver by ourselves. The driver could not find the place. When we finally arrived, there was no room for a couple left. So we were given another room. Smelly, full of cigarettes, not enough blankets and covers (dirty!), 2 separate beds and it was very cold. The next morning we were given breakfast, which was okay, but we had to wait longer and longer for the other promised room. Osama's answer was at first: "At noon." Then: "At 1 pm." Finally, we could enter at 1:30 h. We tried to book a trip to the Dead Sea. They could not arrange it as they were making it pricier and pricier, the longer we were talking. The next morning we tried to get help from another German-speaking guest, who tried to arrange something for us. As a result, he was thrown out of the hotel as would be ruining their business... Finally, Ahmad, the owner's son spend a really great day with us at the Dead Sea. He was nice and really friendly and showed us around. So we thought things might be getting better... Finally, when our bathroom toilet door was broken just before going to bed, Osama's reaction was: "I am eating." The next day, we checked out without getting breakfast, we were made to pay for extra costs for the airport taxi (although they had promised to pay part of it "as a courtesy for the inconvenience"). We had to pay for the food on the Dead Sea trip, which was costly enough. Positive: location quick internet breakfast (if available) the first night was finally for free Ahmad told us interesting stories about his culture and showed us a great local restaurant negative: unfriendly, not trustworthy people, especially Osama more costs appeared very unclean smelly loud (because of constructions, which were not announced beforehand)

This was a very comfortable room - big bed, good lighting, plenty of space. The people working at the hotel in which this place is located were very helpful, especially Osama, who gave me good advice and let me back in at 4am after doors has locked.

I wanted to let you know a couple of things. First, the room in the pictures is not the real room. The room that was given to me was filthy. The floor was extremely dirty, there was humidity/ water in the walls and some insects in the bathroom. The sink was totally disgusting with some pipes rusted and tooth past all over. Also, the description says it is a non-smoking hotel, but there were people constantly smoking all the time and the management did nothing since they were smoking too. Plus there were long hairs on the bed sheets I was provided. Also, at nigh, since the room was extremely cold and humid, I asked for a heater and they want to charge me extra. I think that having healthy temperature when sleeping is not something I should pay extra for. Now I just arrived to the airport and the guy at the front desk asked to taxi driver to charge me for the heater ($15 JOD) and I had to give him the last money I had. Also, when paying for the tours they offer as a "hotel" they told me a price and then they had the drivers to charge me more or they just moved the hours we agrees for the tour, etc., etc. All these incidents make me feel that they are trying to take advantage of me now and Im concerned about having extra charges in my credit card. I actually feel that I should have a refund of what I paid since the room was not as described and my health, having asthma problems, was compromised.

Response from Ahmad:
First & foremost Tony, we would like to thank you for taking the time to give us your input regarding your stay at Nobel Hotel for our guests reviews are what we structure our improvments on inorder to better serve them. Now in regard to your comments, we will take them one by one. 1st there are 3 of the room type you selected to reserve, the picture is just intended to be a sample of that type - in other words you could have asked for the 1 in the picture, 2nd our structure is part of the historic section of Amman concrete stains is common on any old building, 3rd we have a designated smoking open area where you seen smokers hang out & smoke nowhere near the rooms, 4th the hair on your bed as you say was most likely yours or your boyfriends our staff are extremely careful & very tentative to details that not one single other review here mentioned hair or uncleanleness, 5th extra heating device was for a nominal charge of 3JD that barely covers the electricity usage and you still left without paying it, 6th the taxi driver you also underpaid & stiffed the poor guy out of his hard earned money claiming that was all the money you had, 7th there was a simple missunderstanding about your tour due to language barrier which we still discounted for you and gave you an extra tour the day after. In short my friend, you are just one of those people who are just not happy, and can not be satisfied. Always complaining, never content. We at Nobel thrive on customer satisfaction, yet we can not please every single guest which is part of the business, in case you have not noticed, on this page you are the only guest with sooooo many issues. for gods sake you dont even want people to smoke out in the open smoking area!!!!!!!!!!!!! Really?

It was such a wonderful experience being first time in Jordan, and Ahmad has made my trip 5 *****. I arrived late at night in Amman. Ahmad has arranged for airport pickup. The transfer was seamless, and my stay with him was wonderful. With the price I paid for the room, I don't think any hotel or guesthouse could beat this place, as it is so well located to everything in Amman. The center city is only five minutes walk with shops, restaurants and cafe's surrounding the apartment. Ahmad communicated well, and his staff were all attentive. Somebody is always in a lobby to help. Highly recommended for all budget travellers, especially in Amman. You don't find another place like this one. Thanks Ahmad and the Team!
