Booked an airbnb, found a new home and a second family. The apartment is conveniently located in one of the best suburbs Joburg has to offer (Melrose/Rosebank). Recreation Areas, Restaurants, Shopping Malls as well as the CBD are only a stone's throw away and can be reached by car in less than 5 minutes. There is also secure parking space on the property. In addition, the interior of this three-room apartment leaves nothing to be desired. The furniture and the décor are carefully selected and arranged, a lot of effort has been put into the details! The equipment is fully functional and all technology, including the wifi, works perfectly. I have been living in this apartment for two months and can not only recommend it for a short- but also for a long-term stay, no matter the purpose of your stay. Furthermore, a new airbnb apartment is currently being built on the very same property, so tell all your friends and family and bring them with you to South Africa! Even though both apartments are attached to the main building, your privacy is respected and of outmost importance to the hosts who would never "invade" your apartment unless you need something or want something to be fixed (in my case we are talking about a spider in my bedroom, my thanks to Peter again!). There is a gardener who is responsible for the property and the apartment is serviced daily by two incredible maids. These two women do an outstanding job and are very kind and sweet. Without them, I probably would have drowned in my own chaos. Since we are already talking about kind and sweet, let me mention and more importantly thank the most amazing hosts there are on this planet earth. As a young naive German in her early twenties I decided to go find myself in a place far far away and do an internship abroad. However, living and working in South Africa as a foreigner does require some insider information on the do's and don'ts as well as on the historic and cultural background of this beautiful country and its nation. In my case, the Sullivans did not only provide me with accommodation and important knowledge on the country but also integrated me into their family life. Little did I know when I moved into that apartment that in the following 2 months I would be part of the most chaotic but also most adorable South African family that cared for me day and night whenever I needed it. And even though it does sound cheesy, I finally found the siblings (and pets!) I never had. I was warmly welcomed by absolutely everyone and have never before in my life encountered a family that has been so honest, down-to-earth and good like the Sullivans. Consider myself half South African now and am looking forward to keeping in touch with my favourite South Africans and hosting them next year at my place in Germany. You guys...

I stayed 16 nights here for a business trip and was comfortable. Beate and her staff look after the place so well. It is also very close Melrose Arch, Rosebank, Ilovo and Sandton - so all amenities, entertainment and shopping places are close by. The park across the road is perfect for running, jogging and walking. It's a safe neighbourhood.

Beate and Peter are wonderful hosts. They are warm and welcome but also very respectful of your privacy. The staff that work for them are superb and I felt thoroughly spoiled getting my bed made, laundry done daily (laundry for a very small extra fee), and the room 'refreshed' and all looking brand new when I came 'home' every evening

Born in Dusseldorf, grew up in magnificent South Africa. An ex air hostess who never shook off the "travel bug". The Med is one of my favourite destinations-
An atrocious cook- yet besotted with food. Involved in international headhunting.
2 teenage boys -so never a dull moment.
Never take myself or life too seriously- have divine friends and when we are not eating we are laughing.
