Welcome to Rosemoor Lodge. Our property is located on the edge of Bodmin Moor, in the beautiful village of Altarnun, at the heart of Cornwall and all the major tourist attractions within the county and are easily accessible as are those within Devon, should you wish to cross the border!
The lodge was designed to have as little impact on the environment as possible, with low energy lighting, heating and hot water 24 hours a day, provided by Ground Source heat pumps and solar top up on the roof.

The space
We built Rosemoor House in 1998 and Rosemoor Lodge came as a slow and steady extension in 2006. The Lodge itself is completely self-sufficient and heats itself through an underground source heat pump. Throughout the day it gets its electric from the solar panels on the roof. The bedroom and en-suite of the Lodge is submerged under our upper garden, which creates an enigmatic feel to the building from the outside.

There is no Wi Fi access within the property except for a hotspot which we believe is a good thing to enable our quests to have a complete break from the internet.
We welcome well behaved pets.

The whole place is yours and only yours throughout your stay...
The kitchen/living room diner is an open plan light and airy space with feature Windows at either end.
The kitchen has all the modern amenities needed as you would at home including a dishwasher, washing machine, hob, oven, kettle, toaster, cafeteria, microwave and fridge with freezer compartment. It also has pots, pans, utensils, crockery and glassware so that you are ready to enjoy the prosecco as soon as you step through the door.
The living space has a large wall mounted 50” plasma TV and a comfortable white leather sofa in front of the wood burner, which offers the benefits of burning a carbon-neutral fuel in the form of seasoned hardwood logs.
The bedroom has a Super King deluxe bed dressed in white 100% Egyptian starched linen and white fluffy dressing gowns are also available for your stay. Opposite the bed is another large wall mounted 50” plasma TV. There is also a walk in wardrobe with plenty of hanging and storage space.
The wet room links directly off the bedroom and with its dazzling red glittery tiles, walk in overhead shower, twin hand basins, twin vanity mirrors, heated towel rail complete with with hand towels and bath sheets, I am sure it will release the inner diva in you!
From your bedroom you can walk through the bi-fold door out to your very own private decking area. It is the perfect spot to watch the sun go down with a glass of wine, or perhaps an early morning coffee whilst listening to the birds singing.
The decking links from the bedroom to the rear of the lounge and has seating and a table. The lounge bi-fold door can be opened up completely and it is a perfect area for socialising and relaxing while somebody is cooking.

Other things to note
The Coast-
The coast is a 20 minute drive away, cutting across Davidstow (where cathedral city cheese is made). That means the beautiful north coast roads of Tintagel, Boscastle, Crackington and Bude are only a stones throw away. Or if you fancy heading a little bit further down the coast, drive down the A30 for 40 minutes and you'll find yourself in Fowey, Newquay, Watergate Bay, Padstow area. This is the beautiful part of the coast where Poldark is filmed, magical scenery through Summer and Winter. All beaches are dog friendly in the winter, and most are still dog friendly come summer.

The Area-
Altarnun previously known as ‘Altarnon' is a popular tourist destination. The church itself dates back to the Norman era and is commonly known as the Cathedral of the Moor, definitely one to explore. Doc Martin filmed a wedding episode in the village in 2014, and if you're a Doc Martin fan they film it just a 20-minute drive up the road in Port Isaac, a quaint little fishing village with plenty of character.

Hi, we built our house in 1998 and have lived in the Launceston area for over 30 years, and have raised our three children here. I run a Dry Cleaning and Commercial Laundry business in Launceston which I started in 2013.
