Location

Saint-Ignace-de-Loyola, Québec, Canada

A beautiful chalet, located in the heart of the Sorel Islands, along the St. Lawrence River, near the largest heron colony known in the world: Lake Saint-Pierre. There are neighbors at about 40 meters on both sides of the place, with the river front and the forest behind. Though, a trip in the surounding riverways will put you in a 100% natural landscape. The cottage sits on the tip of an island among twenty other houses in rows, perpendicular to the river (including 2 outfitters). The remaining land surrounding the cottage consists of multiple rivers, one lake and many islands, 20 km round. You will only see small chalets here and there. Several islands of the surrounding archipelago are conservation areas, therefore 100% natural.

This is an ideal place to observe wildlife, especially birds. Great blue herons, egrets, bald eagles, ducks, geese (in season), white geese (in season), owls are easily observable around the area, in addition to many deer, ubiquitous on the island all year long.

The place will please hunting and fishing enthousiasts (summer and winter). The chalet is located within a walking distance (2 min.) of two outfitters: Pourvoirie du Lac Saint-Pierre and Roger Gladu Outfitter. Summer Fishing, ice fishing, guide services for hunting duck and goose, rental of canoes/kayak and boats, fishing license purchases, etc.
